That gimmick offense isn't worth the price. Hyman is not the kind of guy to take a chance on spending that kind of money. If you look at the buyout, and the salary you would have to pay and then consider the fact that he will probably be successful if for no other reason than the offense he is taking over, if the risk pays off due to the buyout you end up with a 4 mil a year coordinator for 2 years who takes an HC job. If the offense isn't successful with Manziel and co. Hyman is probably in the unemployment line for taking the chance.

NC State was the perfect job for Morris. His offense is great against ACC defenses that are weak on the defensive line and in the secondary.

the offense is not a "gimmick". Its just a different style..heck, if coaches from the 70s saw a modern pro style offense they might call it a gimmick..its just different.

Not to start a whole Hyman discussion, but he was viewed by some while he was here as a dispassionate bean-counter. It would be way out of character for him to shell out that kind of money on a coordinator.
I still think this means he'll likely be at Clemson for a long time. Unless some school would pony up that outrageous $ for the buyout, he'd likely have to take a sizable pay cut to go to any program willing to hire him.
The other dynamic that will be interesting is how this affects the relationship between Morris and Dabo and the fans. It's obvious there is some serious tension brewing.

He is getting PAID at Clemson. I don't see him leaving there anytime soon for a coordinator position, unless being home in Texas sooner than later is worth more to him than millions of dollars and an offense that is setting records every year.

I had a clemson insider tell me that nc state went after morris hard but they were unwilling to pay him the big bucks. Money is a major issue for him and i cant blame him. He wants to make sure his first head coaching job isnt his last.

NCSU is paying the guy they hired almost 3 mil per year. So that theory seems flawed....

looks like he will be at Clemson for one more year. No worries though, they will score 50+ a game against those jv teams (ACC) and then they will sh*t the bed during their only two games of the year

Can't blame Morris for looking. He knows in less than 3 weeks his gimmick offense will be exposed yet again. And then the first game next year against UGA will be the same result. Might as well try to high tail it out of there while his name has a little stock left.

He won't be the OC at TAMU.
They run different systems...Morris is more gimmicky, trick plays...Kevin Sumlin runs a different offense.

There's only one team I can think of that is desperate enough to pay a coordinator that much money and be on the hook for the much of a buyout.

It will be interesting to see how much Dumbo blames Morris when they lose again next year.
Morris has a liscence to steal with the 1.3 mil that he is getting from clemsux, so why should he take another OC job anywhere?
