Big East dissolving?

I heard some talk on the radio this morning that this could be happening as soon as tomorrow. Anyone else hearing this or have any details?

Boise State is thinking about opting out as the TV revenues will be less than anticipated. The 7 Catholic schools in basketball are thinking about bailing too.

Thanks. I was getting out of the car when they started talking about it and didn't get any of the details.

If it dissolves, would it take effect immediately? What would they do with their AQ bid in the BCS?

I think the Catholic basketball schools should break off and keep the Big East name and logo. This new football league is not what the Big East was intended to be.

I don't think it will dissappear...they are splitting into two divisions next season.

They will just become C-USA...the Big East basketball power is dead though.

And it sounds like that Catholic league may be the new basketball power (if they form).

Notre Dame may have acted too soon signing up with the acc. A basketball dominated conference would keep their football team independent, all of the other schools are catholic, wonder if they would consider joining them?

Can Notre Dame do what TCU did to the Big East, since it isn't an official move until next year?

Knowing ACC steep buyouts they probably want 100 billion dollars if they bail on them.

It's better they stay in the ACC.
ACCs TV contract is higher (for basketball) and they get to remain independent in Football.
