Shaw vs Manziel....

Just something to talk about but we all know Manziel won the Heisman based on the Alabama win. If you look at the rest of the games you could make a case that Shaw is better than Manziel. They both lost to LSU and Florida. Shaw had a fracture in his sholder and a foot injury....Manziel was not injured. Our team put us in the hole at Florida but it was an away game and at the Brice it would have been a different game (see Georgia) while Manziel had Florida at home. We both lost to LSU but A&M had them at home. I look forward to see the havoc a healty Shaw can put on the SEC next year. He will fly under the radar for a while. Like I said...just a thought.

Uhmm...one qb completed 68% of passes for 3419 yards and 24 TD while rushing for 1181 yards and 19 TD. The other qb is shaw--67% for 1732 yards and 15 TD rushing for 330 yards and 3TD.

So yeah, pretty much the same if Shaw had 12 more games this season to rack up some stats.

Now if you would have said Thompson then it would make more sense.

Every thing considered I think a healty Shaw could be as good as Manziel. Manziel played injury free...big difference. Shaw will ha e his chance and individual ststs do not always equate to winning. We'll see.

Wow really Manziel is a Heisman winner and Shaw compared to him is a Heisman weiner... Shaw is a manager he limtis his mistakes but will rarely win us games by himself. Manziel wins games for A&M because without him they are 7-5. I love Shaw, Shaw is our guy but not the explosive big play QB Manziel was this year. But I love your optimism and with that being said we will dominate A&M.

Like he said...Connor was hurt pretty much the whole season...he hasn't had a complete season to show what he can do yet...and next year can hopefully be the year. Could he better than Johnny football...definitely! Is he yet...no...and neither is Dylan....but he hasn't had a chance to prove it...but next year he possibly could

Athletically, it could be arguable that they are comparable.

They both can improvise very well and are dangerous zone read players.

But the difference, IMO, is that Manziel is fearless. I don't mean as far as taking contact, but fearless in throwing the ball downfield. The guy is a gunslinger as evident by those clutch throws he made against Alabama in T-Town. A couple of those throws to Swope, Shaw could have never made or probably attempted.

What is your opinion on why he would never could have attempted it?

I think they are identical in one way...they are small in stature.

Manziel was lucky this year to make it through the season without an injury like he did. I dont wish him any ill-will next year but I fully expect him to get injured at some point next season. Just cant keep taking the pounding in the SEC with his size.

Because he rarely, if ever, throws the ball into tight windows. His throws are such where there isn't a ton of risk associated with them which is OK for a ball control offense.

I agree...he can be...timid...for lack of a better word...with the ball...while i would like for him to take more chances down field...i am happy to have a QB like him finally! FAR BETTER than having one that throws double digit interceptions for a season! TO's kill teams...and we have a QB now that don't allow many TO's
