Thomas Dendy would be an interesting back in Spurrier's offense. He had some really good numbers, especially YPC, in a fairly balanced offense.
CAREER RUSHING STATISTICS Season GP Att Yards TD YPC 1982 11 140 848 4 6.1 1983 11 133 763 6 5.7 1984 12 103 634 8 6.2 1985 11 118 560 6 4.7 Totals 45 494 2805 24 5.7 And Demetris Summers was equal to Latti's ability on the field; just not in the other aspects of being a student athlete. Stanley or Brandon would have been great. They did an excellent job out of the backfield. If we had not had both of these guys at the same time, either of them could have been a 25-30 carry a game guy and would be a lot higher on our all time rushing list.

Lol I agree with you for what it's worth. I actually think Brewer very well may have filled DiMarco's spot...he wasn't "small" by any means and it's not like he couldn't have put on more weight if his position was to be fullback.

Forget running backs, I would have loved to see Sterling play just one season under Spurrier...

Yea, that would be SICK. I think Ace Saunders (maybe Troy Williamson) is about the closest thing to Sterling we have had in terms of explosiveness and play-making ability so imagine what Ace can do/has done in Spurrier's offense...and multiply that by 1000. Hell Troy would have played his senior year for Spurrier (with Rice) had ne not entered the draft. |

I guess I should have simply repeated the same three names over again so someone wouldn't have felt the need to point out the "white guy". |

You need to apologize to Ryan Brewer, take a look at his career, and rethink that opinion. Brewer was a natural, coachable, tough, intelligent, and talented football player!

Brewer is one of the best Gamecocks to ever step foot on the field. The most talented? Far from it, but absolutely one of the best. I'd love to see one of the best on the field with our best coach.

I'd watch Big George anyday. He was a beast before there were beasts. Big George gained all his yards against defenses that had 8 and 9 men on the line. His QB, Gary Harper had no passing game. Having Big George run in an offense that had a verticle passing game to keep the defense honest would be awesome.

Injuries cut him short too. Thomas Dendy, Kent Haygood, underrated RB's for us. Dendy had a good burst.

Mike Dingle could have done well now. Not a great, great back but not a total bust either.

I eliminated George in the OP because he simply did not play in a modern offense where the passing game was part of his skill set.

D. Summers
D. Watson too bad they have a lot of baggage. But hey, CC Whitlock made it threw his senior year and Vic Hampton is still here... |
