On one occasion he was asked by the teacher to read a passage from the textbook and (I assume he was having a bad day) literally said "No."

At that moment it was one of the most awkward settings I'd ever been in.

I think the teacher and Vic eventually resolved their differences because, though he slacked off at the beginning of the class, really appeared to show some initiative to better his grades during the last half of the semester.

To be fair, I hate when instructors ask me to read from the book or force participation. This is college, not middle school.

I usually say no too.....just in my mind, not out loud haha.
