WR Isaiah Ford of Jacksonville, FL has had an offer from USC since his tenth grade year and the Gamecocks are keeping in touch. He talked with recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. a few days ago. "I like him a lot," Ford said. "He was telling me to keep working hard, stay in the weight room and the class room. He said I'd play the role (Alshon) Jeffery played. South Carolina is at the top of my list, if I did have one." Ford has not been to any junior days. He was invited to USC, Florida and Florida State for junior days but couldn't make it. He does plans to visit USC, North Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Ohio State. All but Florida have offered. He does not have a favorite. Last season Ford had 45 catches for 700 yards and 14 touchdowns.

WR, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy -- The 6-feet-2, 170-pound Ford was sensational, particularly in a win over the vaunted South Florida Express. Ford ran excellent routes, displayed great hands and used his extremely good athleticism to go high into the air to make catches that DBs couldn't get to.

He said "South Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Virginia Tech and North Carolina" are standing out at the moment." Of those schools, thus far he has visited only the Gamecocks, Gators and Seminoles.

"Probably [South Carolina assistant] Steve Spurrier Jr.," Ford said. "He loves me. He tells me I'm his guy. He's been recruiting me really since the ninth grade. Our relationship is real close. He always tells me to stay in the weight room and keep working hard."

WR Isaiah Ford of Jacksonville, FL will not be able to attend a junior day at USC this weekend due to a basketball tournament. He will, however, attend their spring game April 13th. "I like South Carolina a lot," he said. "Especially since they let you play two sports. Bruce Ellington does it and so does my good friend, Ahmad Christian." Christian attended the same high school as Ford and the two have maintained contact. Ford does not have any other visits planned but would like to visit Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Virginia Tech and North Carolina. "I have a blood line to Clemson because my cousin played there," said Ford. Each of these schools have offered. His other offers include Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Central Florida, Florida International, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Auburn, Penn State, Georgia Tech and West Virginia. Ford does not have any favorites.

"Something came up and my mom couldn't take me," he said, "but this summer my coach is taking me and several of my teammates to visit a bunch of colleges. I'm going to make sure South Carolina is one of them." Ford has offers from USC, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Oregon, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Florida International, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Kentucky, West Virginia Penn State and Georgia Tech among others. "I don't have any favorites but I definitely like South Carolina a lot," he said. Ford has shown interest in Clemson as well but says he has not heard from the Tigers of late. Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Louisville are other schools he would like to see. "I've been to Florida and Florida State a bunch of times but it's always good going back," Ford added. USC, Ohio State, Florida, FSU, Louisville and Virginia Tech are showing are showing the most interest according to Ford. He did not name a leader.

One of the more interesting recruitments in the state in the 2014 class is wide receiver Isaiah Ford, who is Holland’s teammate at Trinity. That’s not because of who is being considered or when he will decide, necessarily, but because the 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is one of the few prospects that legitimately has the chance to play football and basketball at the next level.

"In basketball, just basketball, I have Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville University, Radford, Rider and Liberty," Ford said. "But schools that have offered me in both so far are South Carolina, Louisville and Florida State."

Ford, who is the cousin of former Trinity Christian and Clemson standout Jaime Harper, maintains he is still open as he looks for the best fit with playing two sports in mind.

"Right now, I'm still open,” Ford said. “I haven't decided which camps I'm going to yet, but most likely Florida, FSU, South Carolina, Louisville and Ohio State. I probably want to try to make my decision in July.”

On the surface, it appears as if Louisville and South Carolina are the two top options as a two-sport college athlete.

"I talk to Coach Ron Dugans from Louisville a lot,” Ford said. “We are really close. I talk to Coach Steve Spurrier Jr. at South Carolina a lot too, and Coach Tim Hinton at Ohio State. I have really good relationships with Louisville and South Carolina."

Ford's football verbal offer list includes Mississippi State, Rutgers, Tennessee, UCF, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and others.
