Ouch for them. The punter may be the biggest loss. . Hagerup was voted the Big Ten's top punter this season, averaging 45 yards.

Senior cornerback J.T. Floyd, senior linebacker Brandin Hawthorne and junior punter Will Hagerup will not travel with the team to Tampa, Fla., for the New Year's Day game because of a violation of team rules, U-M said Sunday morning.

Just throwing this or there. Do players do something during the season to warrant a suspension but teams wait till bowl season to suspend them?

Some of it is grades come in substandard.
Some guys lose their focus after the season and do something stupid.
I'm sure some guys get tested at the end of the season and come up positive.
there are probably some guys who get in trouble before the end but they wait to punish them

You get caught without a Salt Life sticker in Michigan. You don't get to go to the bowl game, simple as that.

Depends on the coach, but since the semester ends right after Football season academics are the usual culprit for bowl suspensions, that and an occasional season ending celebration blowout leading to trouble.

The mich fans are in disagreement in the fact tbat its a suspension or being dismissed. 2 are seniors and the other a perrenial problem..i dont see the point arguing that technicality.

Either way.

It seems that the team adopts Spurrier's attitude towards the game. In the Papa John's bowl it was evident that Spurrier would rather have been hitting the links. Hell, in our last Outback he didn't seem too into the game.

When we have something to play for, however, he's been masterful at preparing a good gameplan and getting the team ready. Hopefully the achievement of back to back 11 win seasons will be enough motivation for him.
