Chris Clark of GCC said he talked to someone in the OSU program and TS does have an offer. He also said those at Carolina feels very good after his visit. The fact that TS has an offer from OSU tells me they think he is a big time player because they already have a number of LB recruits they feel very good about.

Georgia State beat out some of the big boys for Kight Dallas, who was committed to South Carolina until last week.

The 6-foot-2, 228-pounder linebacker from Stephenson High School pledged to Georgia State on Tuesday. Dallas also claims current offers from Purdue, Cal, Arkansas and Troy.

“Really, the reason I had picked South Carolina before is because it was close to home,” Dallas said. “Georgia State is close to home, too. They did a great job of recruiting me, and they really wanted me.”

My thinking is he's going to OSU....they were a big leader for him before we got into the picture, and if they've offered him and want him, then I think we'll do good to finish in the final pack for him, but we don't get him. We got into it with him way too late...

I do not give a flying F how long OSU has or has not been in it.

Either has the ability to start or play SIGNIFICANT time next year for a top SEC team (aka a top team in the nation), with the best player in the nation, and as much exposure as any team (were we not on ESPN as much if not more than any other team?) outside Bama/ND.

THAT should be enough to sway a player from urban Liar. We have a legendary coach, an exciting and at times the best defense in the nation, a potential Heisman on the defensive side of the ball, and MUCH better location (south, palm trees, sun dressed girls galore, close to the beach, etc)

I will never understand the mindset of recruits who would rather goto a place where they would most likely get lost in the shuffle of other highly rated players (see USC, OSU, Clemsux etc), or are genuinely interested in dumpster fires (Miami, UNC, etc), instead of coming to a place that has a great foundation (players are focused and are truly a family), coaches, exposure, big time former players in the NFL, etc.

Regardless, Larenz Bryant looks like a stud (he was everywhere and the quickest player on the field in the shrine IMO), although physically he won't be ready to start until next year- he is by far the most talented LB we have gotten in this era. But if we miss on Sanders or Yannick, that will be heavily disappointing

Little confused at some of the pessimism:

4 star LB Tommy Sanders 6'1" 210lbs of Butler County JC, KS wrapped up his official visit to USC Sunday morning and headed to his home in Cordele, GA. USC was his last official visit and he plans to have a decision by Wednesday. "Everything was good," Sanders said. "I met with the players and the coaches. I hung out the most with Clowney. He's a great guy. He told me it's a great place with great support on and off the field. He said they have a strong team coming back and are shooting to win the SEC next year. They have five seniors (at linebacker) leaving so it's a great opportunity for me to come in and play. I'm going to go back home and narrow it down and see which one best fits me." Sanders also visited Ohio State, Texas A&M and Mississippi State and he's only considering the schools he visited. He said there is no leader at this point and he's not expecting any coaches to visit before the dead period begins Monday.

Sounds to me like he had not made up his mind as late as 12/16 and that we made a great impression.

People make it sound if he doesn't pick South Carolina it's the coaching staff's fault? Just because South Carolina offers means that automatically we should get that recruit? Other schools have a lot to offer, too. I have heard recruits comment about just walking on campus make them feel the tradition at schools like OSU, and let us not forgot about the facilities that some of these schools have, and also, all schools have pretty girls.

Just quote me next time. But yes it is our coaches fault if we can't find another good LB to fill the void left by the defections. It is our coaches fault IMO that Langley/Rolin decommitted, especially Langley.. he witnessed the UGay thrashing firsthand, we had a player with similar skillset at the same position get drafted top 10 last year, and he would have competed for serious PT early.

I think you are right, look at what the guy said. We put him with Clowney, he knows we have a need at LB, he knows this is a great place to play, and he knows we are competing in the SEC next year. What MORE can the staff do? Sometimes guys make other decisions, its not the end of the world and people need to stop acting like it.

All of that said, NOTHING the guy has said puts us at a disadvantage here. I see someone mention that OSU guys think they have him but they don't have a clue.

You can't make those players want to come to USC if they want to be somewhere else. Yes, Rolin's grandfather for USC, but we have had players whose fathers and grandfathers played elsewhere. Maybe he just wanted to please his family when he committed to USC, idk. He certainly made it seem like it was his dream to play for UF when he decommitted. USC should have known better with Langley. USC only moved up with Langley when UA, UGA, and UT cooled on him the first time. Yes, UGA fans trashed him. However, he may have seen Gamecocks trashing other players, and realized fans are the same everywhere. Obviously, UGA was his first choice.

We run a scheme that most don't, especially when it comes to Linebackers. He also was a Florida lean for a long time, if you followed him on Twitter you saw what he was saying during our game with them this year. We wet the bed on that game, the bad kind that you can't throw the towel on and they capitalized on it. Florida gave him the pitch, he bought it. Sometimes it happens.

Wasn't langley orig committed to UGA and we flipped him? Beat it in his head why we are better than UGA, should have been easy considering we own them as of late. Regardless, the staff should have seen the signs with both and been better planned for this. If we miss on Yannick and Sanders in addition to losing Rolin, it certainly is on the coaches.

I am concerned by the fact that we have only signed/commited 2 true CB's this and the 2012 class (Rico and Ronnie). We had a freaking CB as a top 10 pick this year, why is it so hard to get top CBs?? This has been DBU for a long time as well, and it appears the DB position is going to go the way of how our LB position is now (extreme lack of depth).
