All I'm going to say is I wish I could see the behind the scenes of the Sanders recruitment. A&M went from a definite and seemingly a bit distant 3rd to landing him before he his planned announcement takes place. Considering you were talking about the rules I figured this would be a good spot for this post.

And to your post both A&M and UGA had this year geared up for a while because they were expecting to lose a massive number of players. You will probably see them recruiting around the 18-20 range next year.

I hope someone told Tommy that the Aggies were losing most of their OL, which means Johnny boy may get his ass handed to him next year, and the defense could be on the field a lot more.

I certainly understand your point, but in a way, couldn't the idea of the defense being on the field more often be somewhat of a good thing to a defensive player? Just sort of playing devil's advocate I guess.

Maybe, but if their defense is on the field more, they're probably losing.

As much as most of us would love to think these young men come to school only to compete with the best (and yes, I know they are all competitive), the truth is many are probably just trying to set themselves up for a run at the NFL, so if a defensive player can have a good showing even though the defense has been on the field a lot, that would help him make a name for himself.

Honestly, I think it has nothing to do with it, but I just wanted to mention it.

It's kind of eerie how similar our season is when compared to aTm. We ended up with two losses each, both to LSU and Florida (They lost to UF at home) and we both beat our respective division's champion in Georgia and Bama (They won on the road).

They're in Texas (Recruiting hot bed), and they are the only team in texas that can claim SEC ties. Thats a huge advantage.

Something is wrong with our recruiting nonetheless..

we have had 2 of the most visible and known college athletes of the past few years (considered #1 at their position as well), multiple top draft picks, tons of exposure...

yet we cam't attract other top talent to want to play here (aside from a few amazing young men who all do have the capabilities of being studs at USC)

I think it's crazy that we had 2 guys in for Officals, who then chose aTm days after the official. I wonder how many early enrollees they have? How many more guys are they going to take? What is the SEC penalty for oversigning in a class?
