Biggest thing in y'alls favor at this point is that this kid's recruit has been wild and literally anything can happen. He's possibly the most wide-open of the uncommitted top recruits.

At the very least his process should be fun to keep track of.

Arguably recruiting is an art and successful recruiting coordinators are more talented and better recruiters than most of their competitors. Frankly, some schools put recruiting as their topmost priority of all.

Ya know, I'm thinking we could do a lot better with recruiting. All this, 'we recruit character! (chest pound)', or...'we only want the guys that want to be here! (back slap)', or...'we turn 3-stars into 5-stars! (high five)' is such baloney. We need to evaluate the money, time, and energy we're putting into recruiting and kick it up a thousand notches. I can see A&M outrecruiting us right now because they're hot, but when Clemson is landing studs early and often, or even just being on radars of blue chip guys, that's just plain sick and twisted.

I may be in the minority, with that opinion, but reading other sites, as well as CT, there are a lot of us on the "ledge". Right now, looking at all 4 recruiting services, we range from 15th to 24th in the nation and anywhere from 7th to 10th in the SEC in recruiting. After finishing in the Top 10 on the field last year and winning 10 games thus far this season, I would have expected more from our recruiting efforts. But what the heck do I know?

IMO our recruiting success is lagging behind our on field success (although some may argue that). Sure we are putting some good classss together, but we are also missing out on 3-4 very impactful guys every year. Coaches need to up the antee and start landing some more of those studs and learn how to CLOSE out a recruiting cycle.

Here is my concern, which has probably been mentioned before (and I am also one of those very concerned about our LB situation): we are not replacing our "superstars" with similar recruits. And by that I mean, now that Lattimore, Gilmore, and Alshon are gone, who will carry the torch to Atlanta to help win the SECC game? Clowney is the obvious choice; we only have him for one more year. This run of success started with guys like Cliff Matthews, Gilmore, Holloman, etc but it really got cranked up with #21, AJ, and Clowney. In the SEC, you better have some super studs to win the conference.

Now I am thrilled with beating teams like Clemson (which will continue), UT, and UGA. Spurrier has proven he can beat those guys. But I am greedy (and I think the HBC is also). I want to beat LSU, beat Bama, and make the BCS. Our last 3 years of success should be paying off in recruiting and it does not seem to be. Texas A&M has a great story to sell and is making it even harder.

Consider this: right now we have FOUR 4 star players committed (per Rivals). Michigan has 15! Florida has 14, UGA has 14. There is reason for concern.

I agree. With our on field success these past 2-3 seasons our recruiting is not following suit.

Well there are 6 SEC teams in the top 10 in the BCS right now so ranking 6th in the SEC is not too bad recruiting-wise. However, there is no excuse to drop below 12-15 nationally.

Additionally I agree withthe poster who said that the coaches need to replace our impact players, which currently they are NOT.

I'm concerned that if we do not pick it up over the next 2 cycles that we will have a solid 8 win team who can beat CU but will fall short vs the LSU, UF, Bamas of the world year in and year out. We could be stuck in the CFA/Gator bowl cycle for a while.
