"Dr. Lou" is Finally a REAL Dr. Lou!

We drove up from Texas to see my daughter graduate with a B.S. in Cardiovascular Technology from the School of Arts and Sciences for the winter commencement, and guess who was receiving an honorary degree and was the commencement speaker?

Non other than Dr. Lou. (Dr. Pastides even called him Dr. Lou!) He is one hell of a public speaker, whistling "s" and all...

Didn't want to put this in the "water cooler" section because EVERY Gamecock needs to be aware of what "Dr. Lou" said in his speech, which was fabulous -- inspirational and serious with several hilarious moments...

"People ask me all the time how I get along with Mark May since we seem to have such opposite opinions so much of the time... Mark's a nice guy who is smart, he's played the game, but I've signed checks on the front and he's signed checks on the back.

I keep telling him I've got a great bumper sticker for his car that says "Jesus Loves Me... (and everyone else thinks I'm an asshole)".

I nearly fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. Pure greatness.

Good for Lou. Thats pretty harsh shit talk from the old man. I see what he's saying, but damn he REALLY dislikes Mark May lol. (i dislike MM very much also)

May NEVER finds anything positive to say about our college or our program and he picks against us 100% of the time, and he LOVES Clemson.

I know some of his contrarion opinion is intended to keep it interesting, but he really is a smug s.o.b.

I agree ^. I dont like to pass a judgement onto someone i dont know personally, but I can just watch the dude talk on tv and can tell I would never get along with someone like him

Probably when he was with the Jets is what he's meaning or he could mean scholarship funds. Really more of a euphemism for being the team's boss, rather than a a player/employee.

I always figured it was kind of an act the way Mark May and Lou go back and forth... Just to keep it interesting.... I have been a little turned off sometimes how MM disrespects Lou on occasion.... but Mark aint got SH!T on Lou... lol...

Yeah i actually Wikipedia'd him and didnt realize he was so successful in the NFL.... I was hoping to find some ammo to downplay him in reference to Lou.... but his resume is pretty solid

Yep, as much as I hate the Redskins he was huge part of the "Hogs"......possibly the best O line of all time. Bostic, Grimm, May, Jacoby and Starke.

He was a beast in college and a great NFL player. I still have HOGS poster from when I was a kid. That said he does not like us at all. Part act with Lou and he feel's George should not have gotten the Heisman over his teammate.

My bro graduated. The anecdote Lou told about his wife being is best friend and a buddy of his saying no your dog is your best friend and Lou said no my wife is. Then Lou said, my buddy said lock your wife and dog in a room for two weeks and come back and see which one loves you the most. Classic!

Yeah, DR. Lou and may have to play their roles foe ESPN, but May doesn't have to enjoy it so damn much. If it were a really open contest, Dr. Lou would eat his lunch. May reads well, but Lou really has a sharp sense of humor.

C'mon guys, they are paid to act that way on TV. ESPN wants the debate. South Carolina gets more attention from ESPN than they ever did in the 1990s(barely mentioned at all), and Dr. Lou is always on there advocating for us. You can't expect to have Mark May agreeing with him. I bet Mark May is cool in real life and probably only hates WVU and Syracuse and Notre Dame.
