Swearinger's draft status?

Just curious where yall think he will go in the draft. i have followed this guy through high school and everything. He has always had that leadership and attitude like he showed here especially over the last two years. I know some scouts are worried about his speed which i dont know why because his game speed seems off the charts. Me personally i think he is going to be a steal in the draft and unfortunately he probably wont go until like the 3rd round. just curious to what yall think?

i think he'll be the best player on the next level of anyone who has played safety in the spurrier era (simpson, culliver, cook, stewart). plus he'll be in the senior bowl which will give him a chance to show his stuff against the other high profile seniors.

he'll certainly be invited to the combine. fringe draft players are the only ones who have to worry about getting invited, the combine can process up to 335 players though the actual number will likely be a little bit less. so youre talking around 100 players who get invited to the combine might not get drafted.

yeah i always forget about the senior bowl. Hopefully he can make one or two big plays in that game! If he out does Culliver then i would say thats a successful career because culliver starts for one of the best defenses in the league. (49ers)

The memory that stands out to me for Swearinger was the Ole Miss game when they were ranked #4, national TV, and he ended up lining up at CB out an island for a stretch of that game. Was right below us and you could just tell from his body language that he was totally fearless, even though he was a true freshman and out of position.
So as that relates to the draft, he's probably got 5th round measurables, but don't be surprised if he goes a round a two higher than that because of his confidence, smarts, and intensity, and whoever gets him will end up very glad they took him. Bit of a tweener, but will probably get lots of PT and be a special teams monster.

According to Kiper, he probably won't get drafted or maybe the last round. Says his best opportunity is special teams player. He doesn't have the measurables to play safety in the NFL....not fast enough, too short, and gets out of position too frequently. Roughly same answer from TBS.

If he is a special teams monster you mightbe really see the nfl do away with kickoffs. He could do serious harm to someone with that much built up momentum

If he runs the 40 in the low 4.4s at the combine, he could move WAY UP. He has 4 years of solid film at multiple positions with a monster Senior season. Early 2nd or as low as 4th depending on 40 and shuttle times. Posted from Cockytalk.com App for Android

Mel is a f#cking tard. There are plenty of starting safetys that are 6 ft 210 lbs.

He's listed at 5-11, I'd say he's 5-10
