Keep an eye on Devaris Brunson who is currently committed to ECU. Word is his academics have improved and IF that is the case I could see USC jumping all over him. The kid is a top 5 - 10 prospect in SC and is rated a high 3 star tho he would likely have been a 4 star if not for the questions surrounding his academics. His Coach thought he was an even better HS Prospect than Scotty Cooper who signed with Clemson. He is currently 6'1" 205 and runs a legit 4.5.

Garner's departure for Auburn could potentially be a big factor in Wiggins' recruitment. Garner was his recruiter.

I actually watched Brunson play against South Florence this year, had a lot of raw talent and also played RB and Punter for them.

Which someday I wish I could say that about Carolina, we always have to fight for just one big time recruit, instead just get ban bang commits like Uga,LSU,Alabama. I'm sorry we aren't there yet prolly never will but we still win with what we got so ill take that.

USC and Ohio State have stayed in contact with Brunson but were soft on him because of a question about his grades. He has worked hard to get those up to qualify. Since he has done that, USC and Ohio State are now showing a lot more interest in him. He is a beast at LB. This year he also played RB and punted out of neccessity. AND for what it's worth, he and Carson are good friends.

Maybe so, but I think he proved he can hang with the best. Eastern North Carolina has been good for the Gamecocks.

I see you put another junior, Blake Greene as qb and player of the year over Grier and Logan. What is his potential for the next level?

I watched him play in a few games this year and he was clearly the best player on the field in the games I saw him. One of his assistant coaches is a huge Buckeyes fan but I don't believe he's the type to push a guy one way or the other. I'd love to see another LC Panther playing in Cola!

Cooper was recruited for DB. He could see some time on O but he's best suited for DB. Moore is a 4* LB who is committed to Rutgers. His offer list is very long and it's doubtful that we pull him away.

So 247 came out with their updated 2014 rankings today...Highest ranked SC player is 59th. But yet everyone who is "anyone" says that next year is going to be a strong year for instate talent. Well, it might look that way compared to this year but fact of the matter is, that if we're going to take the next step, we must do better outside of SC.

There are 3 players rated as high or higher than the top player in the state this year and a few more 4 star rated prospects. Ritchie, Kinlaw, and Blue all have the potential to make the jump to 4 star ratings as well. It is a stronger year in state. Every year we have to rely somewhat on out of state talent because our talent base just isn't huge but it is pretty solid this year. Plus you look at how we look in NC early leading for Scott, Spain, and Berrios and you have to feel confident about next year's class.
