Not really, but then again what are the weaknesses of our team? We definitely need the defense to capitalize on Clowney's constant double teams.

I think that the comment is pretty much on target. Clowney needs to have more animals, like him, on defense. It is pretty incredible to watch the efforts that other teams have made to keep him out of the backfield, and we have to help him get to the quarterback next year.

But I'd say if we had to have a true Christmas gift this year too I'd say it's Ace Sanders electricity on special teams and Bruce stepping up in the receiving game. What great presents those were for us!

Chris Low missed on this one. DL help? Really? That's the last thing we need on this team. How about a consistent OL, LB help, 1 QB that can take the reigns of the team, the ability to beat teams not named Clemson on the road...etc

First, there is noone like Clowney, he is a different animal.

Second, Quarles, Sutton, Hill, etc are all top notch pass rushers at their positions, and Quarles/Sutton were constantly in the backfield.

Third, Guess you forgot about 6'8 DE Devin Taylor.. He is a freak physically, and will be a 1/2nd round draft pick next spring. Did you even watch our games? The QB was constantly under pressure

I think it was Aschoff and not Low, but yeah the article missed. These guys don't seem to do their homework, they just write about the best known player on the team. Previously it was always something about Lattimore, now it's Clowney.

Regardless both Quarles and Sutton have 1st round push rush abillity at their positions, and Hill has great upside. Our DL is our biggest strength by far

Clowney is amazing...and definitely a different kind of animal, but he wouldn't be nearly as successful without someone like Devin Taylor on the other end.

Without the threat of another DE, it would have been a lot harder for Clowney to have been AS successful this year.

I was thinking the same thing until I just rewatched his highlight vid in Multimedia. While a few of his plays were from other D lineman forcing the QB to move, most of his plays were just straight up beating the pants off of someone.

a QB.. all i want for christmas is for connor mitch to be that guy.. we dont need the best defense in the world or lattimore if we have a qb that throws 250 yards every game and more obviously if hes just on fire

I'm not knocking Taylor but Sutton had more sacks than him this year and played a lot less. Now, I'd love to develop some depth and have the next great Carolina DE but we've got that potential as well with English. Quarles should be fine as long as he doesn't get any cheap shots the refs refuse to penalize. The other DT spot will have a number of potential players filling it.

Oline is what we need and have needed for as long as I can remember. We've got to be able to run the ball better and pass block more consistently. Against the great defenses in the SEC even showing up would be an improvement. The good part is that we'll have more than 1 four to five year player on the oline next year. Takes a loooong time to make up for recruiting mistakes on the oline.

Someone said we need to be able to beat teams not named Clemson on the road. What I think they meant to say was beat the best teams in the country on the road because that is all we have lost to the past 2 years on the road(Arky, UF, LSU). Well if we are beating those teams on the road then we are the best team in the country. I love the thought of that but it ain't going to be easy.
