In this interview mangus (don't see spurrier in any of these videos) they ask if he's spoken with Garcia or if it would be a distraction if he came to practice and mangus says "I dont know, havent talked to him" I didn't see any squirming I thought he simply just answered the question asked. I guess im watching the wrong interview this one was from Thursday.

But Garcia's biggest problem was he wanted to have a good time, he wanted to be a college kid. He came to Carolina during a time when we had quite a few issues with guys who wouldnt give it their all, and would quit on the team. But you never worried about Garcia's effort on the field. He played with the warrior spirit and passion that we would love to see from all of our guys.

I admit I doubt we would accept that kind of behavior from a QB now, but we're a different program now than we were then. But he left the program a better place than when he got here and he had a huge hand in accomplishing things that had never been done before.

He got a lot of chances because of the timing and nature of his offenses in my opinion not because of differential treatment.

first, i agree that too much has been made about this question and answer.

however, if you really want to get a true feeling for how frustrating and nerve racking garcia was, especially after watching connor all year, go back and watch the early games of last year. i just did, and i wanted to pull my hair out!!! spurrier looked like he was going to have a nervous breakdown several times. i for one am glad garcia is gone, and have no reason to look back on him any longer. we are in a different era now, where our players don't get in trouble all the time, and have excellent character. case closed afaic.
