we wil not lose to FLA next year. If we do our job and that game gets a big hype, much like the UGA game this year, there will be no way they beat us at home. We have to good of atmosphere at home to lose this one

That is a combination that could make it happen. Shon will be very hungry, and we are going to see if Connor has learned something against Michigan. My friends in Columbia tell me that Connor is now throwing like he never has before. He finally is playing with confidence and willing to "risk to win" attitude. I think that the key game next year is the Georgia game, and whether they have any defensive players to stop Connor and Shon. I am not worried about our defense. George has the next ten months to have nightmares about our defense.

I honestly thought this was our year. Im afraid the Fla game (specifically all the early turnovers) will haunt us for awhile. But next years sced is very favorable. Our defense will still be great and we dont lose much offense either. We HAVE to make it to Atl next year or we might not get over the hump.

Hard to imagine three really good seasons in a row. We must be living right. But it sure would be special for every player on the team to enter the fall deeply convinced that we can take them all. We seemed ready for the Dawgs but intimidated by Florida and LSU. Why? If we're going to wear Beast Mode shirts then we need to be Beasts. Yes we can!!!! Go Cocks!!!

Somewhat surprised to see every prediction at 11-1 or 12-0.
I was under the impression your team will be losing 7 starters on D and every LB on the 2 deep. |

we tend to think we're in reload mode rather than rebuild mode when we replace players. technically jimmy legree would be a returning starter so if noone else leaves it would be 6 starters on D. so we're only losing swearinger from the secondary that played most of the season, and we did play a game without swearinger. we lost de taylor, but sutton had 5 sacks this year. we lost dt jerideau, but surratt and dixon jr played a lot this year including some starts.
lb/spur is an unknown, since noone has seen significant action. up front and in the back 4 we should be comparable to this year. preseason prognostications are a crapshoot in the summer let alone in december, but it just goes along with how well we've played lately and how the schedule sets up. we have questions, but enough returning talent to hopefully offset the unknowns. |

schedule is our favor, we lost 3 big time game changers on our D last year (Allen, Gilmore, Ingram) and this years D still held their own. So that gives me hope that we have recruited well enough to replace starters. LB position will be a question mark though but our Dline and secondary will be ok.

LSU and Florida really hurt us this year.
Hate to repeat a classic Carolina phrase but.... shoulda, coulda, woulda. |

LB is the only question our defense, and the center position is the only question n offense. Special teams we will have to replace our place kicker which could be a chore, but overall we look to be just as good if not better than last year...

We should be better at every position with the exception of LB. RB is also an unknown without Marcus, but we only had him part-time the last two years and were okay without him. Next year will be the first year where we have a legit SEC Oline - size, depth, experience, future pros at multiple positions. Our talent and depth level at RB, WR, TE, and QB is the best that we have ever had and compares with anyone in college football. I like our Dline and DB corps - lots of good young talent everywhere, plus we have the best player in college football. Kicking is fine also, solid kickers plus the best return men we have had in years.
So we just need a few LBs to step up. The concern is more with experience than talent, but the talent is a little unknown until they play. If they come around - and with the favorable schedule - next year will be better than the last two. |

Our play at tackle, especially left tackle, has been atrocious in several games this year, including the Clemson game. Center is not the only concern we have on offense.

I think the talent gap between our apparent LB corps next year and our two-deep this year is wide enough that they will be better at the end of next season than they are right now. Sure, we had a ton of experience, but they were all punching above their weight class, as evidenced by the LSU game.

SEC screwed us on that schedule. They still love them dawgs and have given them the cupcake the last two years. Next year is our year! The schedule shapes in our favor, we just have to go take it!

No starting LB's returning? No LB experience? No LB leadership?
I predict a 12-0 season. |

IMO our defense will be slightly less than it was this season, which was slightly less than it was in 2011. Hopefully our offense will be slightly improved in most areas, as it should be. Hopefully our team is a bit healthier next season than it was this year, which if it is would be helpful...
Our schedule IMO will be significantly better next season than it was this year: UGA loses a ton on defense, which should benefit us as our biggest question will be our offense. Both UT and Arky are away games, but both teams will have major turnover and new staffs, so I feel good about those games. Toughest/most important games will be UGA of course, and MSU, UF, and CU towards the end of the season. MSU is losing their top 4 receivers and top 2 DBs who have 9 of the team's 16 INTs. We have all 3 of those teams home next year, with a bye week before UF and a gimme FCS game (Coastal Carolina is not at the level of a Wofford or a SC St., and they're losing their top 3 rushers as well as Hillary at QB) before CU. My best hope is at least another 10-2 regular season. The lack of depth at LB concerns me for next season, but really nothing else does. Coming into this season I had OL, WR, and DB as a concern due to replacing so much experience as well as little proven depth behind Alshon. I feel more positive about all 3 of those areas for 2013....

I live in atl now so I have to hear it all the time, but isnt UGA bringing back Jarvis Giles, Aaron Murray, & all those runningbacks? not sure how theyll look on the o-line but if they bring everyone back (I know we beat them) but that's going to be a another year of who will finish with one loss instead of two..I think they play bama next year though correct? good for us!
