My Tampa Plan

Colacock or an experienced Outbacker, lemme know if this sounds reasonable:

4 guys about 30 y/o, leaving the families at home. Drive down 31st, check into downtown hotel, drive to parade area about 5, drive to waterfront bar (or somewhere out of the way) around 7 to eat, drop off car at hotel at 9, and cab to Ybor, then cab home when we're tired.

Get up for game at 10, walk to stadium, watch game, crash at hotel for a few hours, then taking suggestions for that night before heading out on the 2nd.

Are there any pitfalls I'm overlooking?

Friend and I left at 5am from Rock Hill. Drove straight thru to a beach bar in St Pete. Got hammered. Told every there we were skateboard designers with a business in Cali and were flying to each Gold Cup game for the US that summer. They believed it.

Payed beach volleyball until we sobered up. Head back to the hotel. Napped. Rallied.

Met up with the American Outlaws at The Pub in Tampa. Drank some more. Went back to the hotel. Slept.

Next morning. Boot up. Breakfast of champions. Drank a few morning brews. Smoked that dankness. Assaulted the menu at Splitsville from being high. That afternoon, re-high. Drive around World Beer because we were too paranoid to park for being high. Finally park. Hit the bar. Only two losers at this bar at 3 in the afternoon. Lose high. Leave.

Headed to the hotel to nap. Re-boot. Rally. Head to Raymond-James. Hot as balls outside. Drank some beers with some crazy Panamanians. Too expensive to drink inside the stadium. Lose the damn game 2-1.

Go back to hotel. Drink. Finish the weed off. Eat to celebrate being high. Sleep.

Wake up. Grab our shit and hit the road.

Why not just cab to Ybor from the start since you will be there for the parade? Or are you worried about the crowded restaurants in Ybor?

Not a bad plan, but if you leave Ybor after the parade then you may have had all you want of Ybor for NYE.

Let me ask this:

If you went to Carolina, what was your scene? What bars did you frequent most? I may be able to recommend another area for your liking (after the parade) as opposed to Ybor, unless you are set on that. Also, where are you staying?

My scene at usc would have been a house party on Greene St. We're staying near westshore. I was going to hit up a beach bar, or maybe Hula Bay between parade and late night sloppiness.

If I had a Columbia Bar, it would be Louies, but we're looking for a Tampa version of Flying Saucer I suppose.

Get to hotel NY Eve around 4pm... Take cab into Ybor for the parade... Then take cab to a good place to eat/ sports bar to watch the LSU/ Clemson game.... ( This is where a good suggestion from Cola Cock would be nice)..Then take cab back to hotel, and take the free shuttle to Hard Rock Casino.... By then, I'll probably be faded, and lose some coin... Take shuttle back to hotel... Pass the eff out
