I was in Wal Mart recently and picked up a trio of films for a total of $5.00

These video are awesome for what they are.

The films make up the Jack Hunter Trilogy

Here are the covers for the films:














Now it does not take a genius to see that this is a total Indiana Jones rip-off.

But the films are enjoyable if you don't mind bad acting, a shoe-string budget and the annoying voice in the back of your head that reminds you that this is a shameless ripoff of Indiana Jones.

I mention this here because I went to Amazon to see what other people thought about the Jack Hunter movies.

Yes. I realize doing this on a saturday says a lot about the life I lead.

Stay with me.

Anyway, one of the first comments is this:

i approached this set with caution as it does clearly look like a rip off of indiana jones, but let me get this out of the way, it is pretty much nothing like indy...

the only real similarities are:

1.) in the first and third parts our hero 'Jack Hunter' wears a beige shirt and fedora

2.) Jack hunter is a treasure hunter

3.) he is trying to stop someone getting a mythical object that contains great power.

and that's pretty much where i'd say the similarities end.

Yep.

I wrote all of this to say those three things are the defining characteristics of Indiana Jones movies.

Of course that is "where the similarities end!"

If the similarities continues, the film would have to have Harrison Ford in them!

Well, if you have read all the way up this point, let me apologize for wasting your time.

But you really could do worse than seeing these movies.

For example, also in the bin was this movie from 2003:
