Yet, somehow, Connor Shaw was still the starter going into the game today and Spurrier said it was "his game." Somehow, Spurrier said after the game that Connor played SUPER and gave him a game ball.

Interesting that a coach like Spurrier would give a game ball to a player that horribly underthrows balls and can't throw very accurately. Interesting that he stuck with Connor Shaw in the fourth quarter today until Shaw was injured.

I wonder why that is?

I wouldn't have asked the question if it had been clear. But if you say that you don't have a preference ill take you at your word. We should all be enjoying this day and great game. Not the negative garbage you're posting here tonight about Connor Shaw(who is 17-3, 1-0 vs clemtech, and VERY instrumental in the ONLY 2 11 win seasons in Carolina history, by the way)!

One thing to keep in mind about the game was the OL. When Michigan was blitzing they were getting home no matter who the QB was but after Shaw burned them on the ground they started rushing just 2, 3, or 4 the majority of the time. I think that played a big factor in keeping Shaw in the game and Thompson on the bench until the end because our OL just couldn't handle them. When Thompson was in he made some great throws but was a human pinata because Michigan wasn't afraid of his running ability. So I believe that played a role in the PT. Both QBs played great games and we scorched a great pass defense.

I think the biggest issue on both sides is too many people taking their opinions as absolute truths. Debate and questions can be interesting until the close mindedness kicks in.

I agree that Shaw's mobility kept him in the game but sadly it was because the oline couldn't effectively block even when Michigan only rushed 3. I wonder what either QB could do with a half way consistent oline.
