St. Pius DB Nick Glass said he was offered by UGA on Saturday. Glass is only a high school sophomore and projects to be one of the state’s top prospects for 2014.

The 6-2, 205-pound Glass already has accumulated an impressive offer list, and he's probably just getting started. He's big. He's physical. And he's considered to be an excellent competitor. Glass possesses a strong backpedal, and he reacts quickly to what the offense is doing. He closes well and is a true ball hawk in the secondary. He also does a good job playing the run.

Yes, St. Pius X in Atlanta. Holloman and Geno Smith both came out of Pius last year.

Re-opening:

2014 DB Nick Glass (6-2 203) of Atlanta committed to Georgia April 4th but has plans for several visits moving forward. Glass chose UGA because he feels it is best for his future. "It's home," he said simply. "My grandmother has never missed a game I've played in and it's close to home. Plus, I know I'm going live in Georgia once I'm done with football and it's about connections and networking." Glass has visited Clemson three times and will attend a game this fall. "I love Clemson," Glass said. "Every time I'm there, the coaches welcome me with open arms. I've built a great relationship with coach (Marion) Hobby and coach (Charlie) Harbison." He also enjoyed USC and was present for the Showcase camp. He plans to return with a teammate for a game this season. Other schools he plans to visit include Southern Cal, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Ohio State and Michigan . All have offered along with Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Illinois, Louisville, Virginia and others. He is very strong in his commitment to the Bulldogs.

He remains "committed" per the article cited. However, the article says, "Glass reopened his recruitment two weeks ago but maintains that he is still committed to Georgia, for now." So, I guess you could say it's a matter of semantics. Sounds like he decommitted if he has reopened his recruitment.

I would hate see Glass go to Clemson, which is his rumored #2, just because of all the dbs UGA has committed.
