Someone several posts back texted relatives at the game and were told "excessive celebration".

Makes sense - they're a Big East crew and anyone scoring 2 TD's in any game is guilty of excessive celebration in the Big LEast. Boise got wind of that rule and backed out of their commitment...

That group that did the game was a band of idiots... When the 9 year old behind me knew when during a kickoff that goes out of bounds, you place the ball at the 35 yard line... It took those morons a good 2 minutes to huddle and move the ball back 5 yards... but then again, not really surprising since Michigan only had to go 9.9 yards for a first down...

You can't make up for 3-4 horrible calls with a few holds/facemasks.

Why was the Clowney ff reviewed anyway? It was a clear handoff, RB dies, clowney walks away with the football.

By rule, they review all turnovers. Shouldn't have taken as long as it did to see that it was a clean play though. Then again, as everyone has pointed out, those refs were incompetent.

From the Michigan boards it sounded like they were reviewing to make sure that the ball was out before his helmet came off. By rule is play is dead when the ball carriers helmet comes off. Not sure though.

I thought they looked at all turnovers but didn't have to have an official booth review.

I would have ripped my TV off the wall if they would have negated the fumble because of the helmet flying off.

After that BS first down call, if they had negated the fumble, I would've been ok with Spurrier saying "Okay boys, let's pack it up." I mean what's the point of playing if the refs aren't going to follow the rules and actively make you lose a game?

I believe the flag was for excessive celebration. Half of the team ran into the endzone and was jumping around back there and celebrating with our fans behind that endzone. They just must have called it on Ace because he was back there and they wanted to call it on someone and he's the one who made the play soooo... yeah. Honestly, the celebration was a bit excessive with 8 minutes left in the game.

The ball carrier never even had possession of the ball. The RB saw Clowney coming unblocked before the ball was to be handed off. He never had possession of the ball as he muffed it with Clowney coming in the corner of his eye. Therefore, the play could not have been called dead because he never had possession. If you look at the play in slow motion, all of what I said is quite obvious.

i figured it was to see whether the ball needed to be spotted at the 27 or 30 yard line, i questioned whether his knee was down when he picked the ball up

That was my thought too, I said to my son-in-law we can't win if we have to play two teams, Team Michigan and Team Officials. I was wrong.
