I believe he only got in the game for two plays. Why would the coaches use up a year of his eligibility, but not use him more then that? Particularly with Miles struggling to get any yards. But I have heard rumors from another running back on the team that he is considering sticking with just baseball now as well. Take it for what it is worth but it is from a good source.

the eligibility is pretty much moot since he decided to play, but yeah it does suck that he didnt really get an opportunity to make a play or get a handoff.

Because he doesn't plan on staying for 6 years.

But if your going to use him why not at least give him
a few carries? It wasn't like Miles was out there having the game of his life.

Why is this so hard for people to understand? Whether he would have played 0, 2, or 200 plays yesterday, he's not staying for 6 years....Why would it matter?

As a side note, to get the sixth year of eligibility he would have had to apply for and receive a medical exemption on his first year, and he's not really interested in that. He may also be able to apply and get a medical exemption for his first year, as he was injured very early in the second game, should he change his mind and want to play for a 5th year. But neither of those points matter if he actually does want to stay with baseball. All that being said, he wanted to play in the game, and we were short on RB depth because of injuries. I was surprised Kenny played as much as he did, we heard a lot about his being injured before the game. |

I really dont get it. He only got like 2 opportunities with the ball in his hand. Kenny played almost the whole game and MD didnt get but maybe 1 touch. Maybe they realize that the younger stable of backs is going to be tough for playing time in the future so let him get some of the light while he can? I really dont know

Better question: Why did Mike Davis not get even one carry?

It wasnt the coaches. It was Shon's decision.

Shon got 2 screen passes...they were basically back to back, right? He looked a bit timid in my opinion after the catch...almost tightened up for the tackle rather than trying to make a play. I'm sure a lot of nerves were factoring in, too.
At any rate, I was dumbfounded with our lack of running game yesterday. Aside from Connor's long run...we had what, 20 yards? Kenny Miles has always confused me with his running style...he gets the ball, the hole is there, and he actually has a good burst...then suddenly, he goes down. It is almost as if he doesn't pick his legs up high enough or have the ability to shake tackles by using quality vision.

He would've had over 100 yards total offense if his teammates did their jobs on the screen play and the option. He was a missed block and a poor decision from having a breakout game.

Kenny miles is the best blocking back we had available and we needed to help our oline thus Kenny played the most

Game plan obviously. The plan was to throw the ball around more and it worked for the most part. KM gave us the better blocker and receiving RB option.

yes, but that's assuming they do something that they haven't really done all season. Our running game has basically vanished and it's not exactly the RBs fault. Play calling, game plan and OL play.

We've thrown screen plays and ran the option numerous times this year. Not sure what your point is.
I think the option play was a bigger let down because not only did he have space, but the receivers had locked onto their defender. If he makes a defender miss, he may could have housed it too. But thats assuming that he actually got the pitch (still scratching my head on that one).

KM had some really big plays in the fourth quarter. He came up bigger than big in the end.

He may be considering sticking with baseball, but he is just considering it. Its not for certain that he will. I sure hopes he comes back for another season on the field because he is a lil hulk and a great unproven running back so far. Best of luck to him on all his future endeavors.
