I love Ace, but I don't see him being a NFL caliber pure WR due to his height. He'll be a kick return specialist for someone. I mean, look at Alshon's numbers this year in the NFL. That being said, he'd do better to stick around one more year. Just my armchair QB opinion.

I tend to agree about Ace maxing out his stock at wide receiver; however, I think he could still improve his draft position by another highlight year on special teams. I think most of his value to an NFL team will be on special teams. He had a pretty good year; however, he has the opportunity to be the top return guy entering the draft next year.

Obviously, if he gets an evaluation of 1rst or 2nd round, he should go -- otherwise, I really do think he has a very good chance of improving his value next year.

Someone who understands the rookie salary thing please explain...I know there is a minimum with increased through the 4 years. Also you get a 4 year contract just for being drafted too right? What are the average salaries for the rounds outside round 1?

I agree with this for the most part, but you really can't compare Alshon's stats this year because Jay Cutler is in love with Brandon Marshall.

If Cutler threw all those passes Alshon's way instead of BM's, he'd probably be going to the Pro Bowl.

I agree I think he should come back but I also think he could be a helluva slot WR in the NFL.

He will likely decide based on his draft grades. He will likely not go in the early rounds regardless - this year or next. If he grades 3rd or higher, I think he goes. 4th round grade, maybe. 5th or later, I doubt it. He has definitely gotten better each year, but he has to look out for his future. He's been a great one to watch.

Well that stinks. I wasn't even thinking he would be leaving 3 days ago, now it seems like he will.

I would love to see him back but if he can get 3rd round money, he should probably go. It would be difficult for him to duplicate this season with the punt returns and bowl success.

I was for Alshon leaving, I'm not for Ace leaving. Not sure he'll go as high as 3rd round and I think another year could help him.

Man, I wasn't expecting that. I hope he stays. If not, I think it is crucial that we keep Bruce. I think Bruce could slide into Ace's spot with little drop off... If Bruce decides not to play football next year and Ace leaves... we could be looking at some problems if several younger guys don't step up.

I'm delighted to see lately in this forum a lot of care for the future of the players, not a narrrow focus on the needs of the team. I think it shows fan maturity and how far the program has advanced. We all love what Ace has and can do, but most of us also genuinely want the best for him.

In the Outback post game presser he said he was going to sit down and discuss it with his family. I think he stays, thats just me. Alot of players are interested in seeing where they stand and what they may need to improve on in the offseason to better their chances of getting drafted higher.

Ace has all the intangibles the versality, speed, route running ability, however his receiving numbers are no where the numbers that Alshon, Sid, or Troy had when they all went pro. Ace Sanders reminds me of Steve Smith a small guy who has the heart of lion.
