I just don't think we were interested in Chris Payne anymore otherwise he would be here and not have gone to Texas Tech. I am not optimistic about this situation either, by our coaches really want to sign another linebacker so maybe this situation will work out differently than that one.

Look, I understand why some on here are skeptical, but I'm assuming our coaches have checked into his transcript. If he weren't anywhere close, think they would have said thanks but no thanks. I haven't heard anything coming from any insiders as of yet.

If we have Powell/Lewis/Cooper/Bryant as our inside LBs then I think we are in better shape at LB than most believe

Gerald Turner coming in also. Possibly David Johnson inside as well as they see how he grows. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bryant at WLB or Spur with his speed.

All of the offensive linemen. We need some big uglies with mean streaks to help our run game and keep our QBs from getting sacked so much.

Devin Washington because in addition to being a great athlete, he is a Marcus Lattimore type of individual. He will be a leader from the moment he steps on campus just like Marcus was.

Cooper because of his ability and also because of his character.
