If USC would have actually given Florida 21 points, yes that would affect the outcome and you would have an argument. But Florida is 5th in the nation in turnover margin for a reason, they force them. Oh, and we had 6 turnovers to Uga (many on their side of the field) and only lost by 8, but I would never say we gave Uga that game, they earned it.

Your defense has been great at forcing turnovers, and I will give you all the credit in the world for the corner blitz that made Connor cough up that first fumble. But Ace and Damiere were sloppy in their returns and pretty much put the ball on the ground without much contact - you can't argue that they were about the biggest freebies you can get, turnover wise.

In post game interviews, our guys said they noticed on film that your guys didn't protect the ball. They exploited that, just like any other weakness would. If they noticed it on film, it must have been something that was being done all season. Why were we the only team with 21 'gifted' points? Turnovers are a part of the game and just as relevant a stat as any other. To me the argument of the 21 gifted points would be the same as me saying we let Louisville move the ball all over the field on us tonight. We didn't let them do that, they did it to us.

Also, I don't think any of the turnovers we got against y'all were returned for scores. We still had to score on offense once we had the ball, which isnt a gimme with our O. We turned the ball over to Uga the ball 6 times (several with very short fields) but we didn't let them score most of the time, hence why they beat us by 8, not a lot more.

I don't have a problem with anyone saying, I wish we didn't turn the ball over that much, it could have been a different game. But to say a 30 point loss was gifted is silly IMO.

actually there were a lot of critical passes completely throughout the 3rd quarter. gillislee had 19 carries 37 yards. florida had 89 total yards rushing, they werent running the ball at will. they were balanced though and did have some good runs so im not saying that didnt do anything on the ground in the 2nd half, but that was a vast overstatement.

i'd agree with your bottom of your last post. we blew out uga, fla blew us out, uga beat fla in a battle. based on that and the overall resumes, the teams are almost like splitting hairs.

UF DCs, at the time, had a track record of within like 3 years of becoming major HC or NFL coaches. A lot of people claim that him having a mixed marriage held him back from getting southern football positions he deserved.
