Living in the inter-mountain west I don't get the pleasure of friendly jawing with fans from many other school we play. 80% of the folks here pull for Utah or BYU. There's one lady in my office that pulls for UF and one guy that's an LSU fan. So during the season, I had to eat a little crow when we dropped those games. Ironically there are a couple of Michigan fans here as well. Put yourself in LSU's or UF's shoes right now. I can tell you right now, they aren't happy about the prospect of having to sit thru their off season with their last game being a loss in a bowl game. They are all saying their coaches are terrible, the players don't have any heart, yada, yada, yada.
After watching both LSU and UF play their bowl games, I have no doubt that in a rematch with either of both of those schools we would come out on top, even without our start running back. It's so hard to get up for BIG games, and to have 3 huge games, back to back to back, with two being on the road was just too much for us to overcome. But such is life. As the old Blonde song goes, "Dreaming is free."
I've watched Carolina football for close to 40 years, and I have zero doubt that even with two losses, this was the greatest team in South Carolina Football history to date. I think our schedule sets up mildly more manageable in 2013, especially when compared to UF and UGA. Let's tee it up in 2013 and do it again.
