I was listening to 107.5 the game yesterday on my way to work. The dude on CBS national radio show said it was the greatest play he had ever seen in CFB.

First we get jobbed on national TV by a nefarious 1st down call that was CLEARLY and UNDENIABLY evil--people all over the world are screaming at their TVs in disbelief. We are losing in the 4th Q and need some momentum. Clowney, 6th place finisher in the Heisman vote and best defensive player in the country, skull fractures the opposing runner with one of the best hits we have ever witnessed. Momentum shifts. We win against a top 25 team in a major bowl. Twitter universe explodes with "OOHH MY GOD, DID YOU SEE THATs!" The clip shows up on almost every major news outlet in America and even housewives are talking about it.

You may wanna reevaluate what you consider a "greatest of all time" play dude because that could EASILY be the best play we've ever seen in a college game. Flutie's Hail Mary pales in comparison.

Seneca Wallace's scramble against Texas Tech in 02, still the greatest play I've ever seen. I think he ran about 200 yards and didn't get touched.

Clowney's is def in the discussion, I just don't think it's hands down the best.

The difference with the majority of those is that the ones mentioned were game winning plays. Clowney's play was so amazing due to the circumstances and pure hate involved.

It says something that Clowney's hit during an Outback bowl is mentioned with those other plays.

Everybody seems to like the trick plays, or the flukey plays like Hail Marys or SOL plays, they're warm crowd pleasers. BUT, based on the circumstances of it in a major bowl game, and based on WHO the player was, based on the raw emotion and power, Clowney's hit elevates it straight to the top. Stop being a hater. Do you have money invested in those top ten best plays list or something? Any high school kid can throw a stupid hail mary, or execute a dumb hook and ladder...cummon.

JD wasn't but about a half step from taking the hand off that is some nasty speed I say it ranks up towards the top of any play I have ever seen . I had

ESPN just did an interview with Carl Lawson and Robert Nkemdiche and asked them about Clowney's hit. When asked if they had seen it they both laughed and said "Oh yeah". Gotta love all the air time this hit is getting.
