Swearinger vs Clowney

So I was thinking about it today and in my recent memory, I've never seen two big monumental hits in back to back games with the significance these two did.

So just for fun, which hit do you think was better and why? Personally, I believe the Swearinger hit was because one the guy he hit was bigger then he was and sent him airborne along with his flex, pretty much saying "We own you."

The DJ hit was a thing of beauty because of where it was and the way it happened in the open field, but the Clowney hit was a monster.

My vote is for Clowney only because it completely changed the momentum of the game.

You have a valid point, but I think after D.J's hit everyone in that stadium knew who would win because of a certain phase of our team, our Defense.

Good thought but I don't think the two are comparable. DJ's was the best hit in a season or two. Clowney's was a movie moment, one for the ages. It transcended sports, being mentioned on regular CNN, Fox and Friends, and GMA.

I don't want to take away from Swearinger's sweet hit at all!

Perhaps most of all is the fact that Michigan is nationally relevant and Clemson is a perenial laughing stock coached by Goober the cheerleader.

According to the Rivals site Ellington is 5-10 195 and Swearinger is 6-0 210 so Andre isnt bigger than DJ like you suggested. Just pointing that out. Clowney's hit was def. more game changing though.

Clowney's hit left a crater on the field straight out of The Dark Knight Rises.....we had to finish the game out in the parking lot. I mean....COME ON..........

I don't know what it is, perhaps it is just the fact is a DB, one of the smaller guys on the field instead of one of the biggest hitting a smaller one.

Either way though, both of those were monumental for this season and beyond.

Gotta go with Clowney's..... Loved Swagg's because it was against Clemson but Clowney's may have won the game for us. The Clemson game was over after the first drive of the 3rd qtr. (actually before the game even started) because they had no legitimate chance of coming back on our defense, that hit was just icing on the cake and added that much more proof of our physical dominance over the kitties.

I like what one guy wrote about how Clowney recovered the fumble: " He reached down and grabbed the ball with one hand like someone picking up a biscuit from a plate". After seeing multiple replays of 4 or 5 GA players trying to recover a forced fumble in the end zone only to have it go out the back for a safety, the ease with which Clowney just one hands the recovery shows just how dominant he is. If he improves next season as much as he has from season 1 to 2, he will be the most dominate player in college football.

Clowney's hit was hands down better, but with Swearingers hit, you can hear the life being sucked out of Death Valley as it happen...both great!!
