Northwestern junior QB Mason Rudolph has had a monster season in leading the Trojans to the 4A-Division 2 state championship game. Going into Saturday's showdown with Greenwood, the former tight end has passed for 3787 yards and 39 touchdowns while completing 68% of his attempts. LSU has taken notice and is the first major program in with an offer. "LSU is really high on him," Northwestern coach Kyle Richardson said. North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama are three others showing interest at this point. Rudolph camped last summer at USC and the Gamecocks also have been in contact. This season Rudolph attended games at USC, Wake Forest, Clemson and North Carolina. He plans to visit about five or six schools this summer, but LSU stands out with him right now. "I'm excited about the LSU offer," he said, "but I want to see what else comes in."

Northwestern QB Mason Rudolph was offered by Virginia Tech earlier this week according to his coach Kyle Richardson. Rudolph also has an offer from LSU. Richardson said Georgia is also showing strong interest at this point, and he's also getting attention from Tennessee and Alabama. USC and North Carolina also have shown interest.

Northwestern junior QB Mason Rudolph has been offered by LSU and Virginia Tech thus far and is looking for more. USC is among the other schools showing some interest. "They said they would continue to watch my progress," Rudolph said. "It would be cool to hear (about an offer) from them." Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina and Notre Dame also are showing interest. Rudolph will go to some junior days this spring at the schools which have offered him. He does not have a favorite. This season Rudolph passed for nearly 4000 yards and 41 touchdowns and he rushed for nearly 500 yards and 10 scores.

Any chance we offer this guy? He's pretty tall, decent arm, throws a good deep ball, and he's pretty fast. Maybe he plays in a system, but that doesn't mean he isn't good. Those WR weren't always wide open. Systems don't make throws like that.

Northwestern QB Mason Rudolph was offered Friday by Oklahoma State according to his coach Kyle Richardson. Rudolph also has offers from LSU and Virginia Tech. Richardson and Rudolph have been in touch with new LSU quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and they were assured by him that Rudolph is a high priority quarterback target. He will take an unofficial visit to LSU March 22nd. He plans to visit Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee over spring break. Rudolph is getting no interest from USC or Clemson.

QB Mason Rudolph of Northwestern has offers from LSU, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State with LSU showing the strongest interest at this point. Rudolph will visit Baton Rouge March 22nd, the first of several trips he plans to make this spring. During his spring break in April, he plans to see Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech. Rudolph said he remains wide open and does not have any favorites.

QB Mason Rudolph of Northwestern has four offers with none from South Carolina schools. "Clemson already has a quarterback committed and USC has only offered that kid from Kentucky (Drew Barker), I think," said Rudolph. "We'll see what happens." His offers are from LSU, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma State. He recently took advantage of spring break by visiting Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss. "Georgia was great," he said. "We got to meet with coach (Mike) Bobo and see a practice. We toured the campus and it's a nice town. I had a lot of fun. It's a great program with great people." Ole Miss was a little more intense. "They've offered me so their interest level is obviously a little higher," said Rudolph. "We got more personalized attention. I got a full day of recruiting and met with a lot of guys there. Afterwards, we went to the baseball game so it was a lot of fun." LSU continues to show Rudolph the most attention. "I got a chance to go down there March 18th," he remembered. "It was awesome. We met with the players and got to see the stadium. The next day they scrimmaged in the stadium and we had a lot of fun." He does not have any favorites and is expecting several schools to stop by during his team's spring practices. Rudolph wants to narrow his list down to two-to-four teams this summer.

The others are LSU, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss and Louisville. Rudolph plans to narrow his list to two this summer and then make his decision.

LSU and Oklahoma State are the favorites. “I’ll probably make my decision in the next two or three weeks and then I’ll camp at the school I plan on going to to get more familiar with their coaching staff,” he said. Rudolph did not name a leader. He picked up an offer from Virginia last Wednesday, his sixth. The Cavaliers join LSU, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss and Louisville. Of those that offered, Louisville is the only school that has not visited Rudolph this spring. Other schools to come by were Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Appalachian State, Arkansas and North Carolina. “South Carolina has not been by,” said Rudolph. “I am pretty sure Georgia is planning to come by later this week. I’ve talked to pretty much every school that has been by to see me.”
