Next he said " we got one here that's only a sophomore, he's gonna be really good about 6'3", Dylan Thompson. He had a really good game and he could be an NFL QB one day. He had a really good last two games of the season." After that he said "and Connor, Connor wasn't bad either".

Sounded like a pretty big Thompson homer himself right now.

Look on the main page, to the right, a little ways down, you will see the most recent pod casts. Hour 1 & 2 from today are already posted - don't use the 'pod cast' link at the top. Plus, they format the URL's the same way, so it's easy to spoof whatever date/hour you want, even if you can't find the link; as a matter of fact, here:

He did sound extremely positive of Dylan. That is awesome to hear because I would love for us to have a NFL caliber QB and sounds like Dylan is going to get that chance.

But he didn't say Connor "wasn't bad either." He said "Connor Shaw had an excellent game also in the bowl." Big difference there. Especially considering that you just told another poster that you stated it "verbatim" when asked for a link. But that is not what was said.

I know people think I am doing nothing but defending Connor. But I just don't get why some of you are trying to take accomplishments away from Connor or re-word things that were not said to make a point about Dylan. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Why is it that they couldn't have just BOTH played excellent in the bowl game?? Which by the way, is what Spurrier said.

I will absolutely defend Dylan if I see the same kind of stuff being "re-written" about him or being said. I just haven't seen it. I just don't know why all of a sudden it is time to put Connor's accomplishments down.

I think double digits of years of having 'running QBs' makes people hot for a passing QB. Good Lord I know I am! When I see DT doing interviews looking like part cave man, I get excited. He steps back and lets the ball go - and hits people in stride! I love it. I get jealous seeing D2 schools with QB's slinging the rock down field and hitting fast guys in stride. WHY CAN'T WE HAVE THAT? But we do when DT is at the helm.

I'm not saying our seasons will turn out different or our record if we played only one of the QB's over the other. I'm saying I prefer watching us play when DT is the QB. With Shaw it's the same ol thing:
one thousand one one thosan - taking off!

With DT it's either a hand off or I can't wait to see where this ball goes! (or the odd sack).

The longer play goes with DT in the back field, the bigger passing completion it's gonna be, the longer Shaw is in the back, the higher odds of a scramble. Personal preference, I prefer DT. Not gonna campaign for him, just what I'd prefer.

Don't know if this was mentioned yet but they no longer replay the DP show on 107.5 now that they are with CBS Sports Radio. Apparently FoxSports ran such a horrible show during that 7pm time slot that 107.5 just re-ran the DP show. But now that they are with CBS sports they don't need to re-air it.
