If he does pick Maryland the Gamecocks will be ok. If SC wants another OL they have a couple of high profile guys interested that will gladly take Rodgers if the Staff feel they need another OL.

He visited Maryland December 14th, and will indeed be here January 18th. That's our big weekend, so we have a chance to really, and hopefully, make an impact that weekend.

Id love to have an ace like that. Mangus and Ward are good but there are some stud recruiters out there. We have good recruiting classes but we should be better than what we get. 10 and 11 win seasons in the SEC should be worth incredible classes. Now we evaluate well and have great players but need to work harder on the trail.

Sorry guys I haven't been following this recruitment all the closely but what is going on here? When did Maryland make such a push? Everything I had seen about this guy was all Gamecock.

I think these 2 seasons will have more of an impact on our 2014 recruiting class due to the fact there is much more instate talent.

There are a few guys that are absolute ELITE recruiters as assistants out there:

Mike Locksley is one.

Others would be Eddie Gran, Rodney Garner, Tosh Lupoi off the top of my head.

I'm sure there are more, but I would put our guys (Mangus, Ward) at the next level below them because there are many of these guys out there right now and in order to get one you better have DEEP pockets.

Well seeing how we spend the very least on recruiting in the SEC, we should have plenty of money lying around to grab a top tier sales person.

We do not have the lowest recruiting budget in the SEC.

I read some of the stories about Auburn in the Bowden era, and it is easy to use the term deep pockets and Rodney Garner in the same sentence.
