About half of those guys that either have been or will be drafted by an NFL team. Sure, there are 3 and 4 star guys that fall between the cracks and burst onto the scene in college, but recruiting rankings are a very inexact science. Percentage-wise, a 5 star is still much, much more likely to be drafted than a 3 or 4 star recruit.

Some of those guys were just victims of their own egos, too. You'll see more and more of that occur as we continue to glorify high school freshmen as "the next big thing". They'll buy into their own hype and will never live up to their potential.

Does it matter if the guy gets drafted if he never plays for your team (as in...gets kicked out of school, off the team, etc)?

There are about 30 five star players and over 300 3 and 4 star players. So,,,duhhhhh.

You're casting a broad net. Give me a 5 star with great work ethic and a 2 star with great work ethic and 8 out of 10 times the 5 star will win.

Bobby Bowden used to say. "You don't have to go out and recruit all these 4 and 5 star kids. But if you don't you'll be watching them play for championships somewhere else."
