Junior OL Taylor Hearn of Williston-Elko returned to USC last Saturday for the Tennessee game. "I saw the facilities and was on the field," Hearn said. "I watched the game and then talked to Coach Elliott and Coach Sands. They like me on film. They are real interested in me." Hearn plans to go back to USC and Clemson for games. Those are his top two right now with no favorite, though he grew up a Gamecock fan. Clemson has offered Hearn and he's waiting to hear from USC. "Coach Elliott said as soon as the season is over he'll let me know where I stand with them," Hearn said. LSU, NC State, Mississippi State and North Carolina also are showing interest.

Junior OL Taylor Hearn of Williston-Elko received visits last week from USC and Clemson. Dabo Swinney and Marion Hobby of Clemson and Everett Sands of USC stopped by the school to see Hearn. "I didn't get a chance to talk to Clemson's coaches for some reason but they did talk to my coach," said Hearn. "They're telling him they really like me and want me to come play there." He was able to speak with Sands however. "He told me they are recruiting me hard but, at the same time, they're taking is slow with me," he said. His offers are from Clemson and North Carolina. "I like Clemson," said Hearn. "I like the coaches and it's a family up there. I like the campus too." He voiced interest in USC as well. "I would like to get an offer from them," said Hearns. "It's close to home and I like the school. It's a nice campus and all." Hearn plans to take in several junior days but has not scheduled any as of yet. He does not have a favorite.

FYI. Kid has made it public he wants to play for us but no offer has been extended. Anybody care to weigh in on that one for me. Since we clearly want people that want to be at Carolina and we clearly need all the help we can get at Oline.

Once our coaches can get a look at him in person, I'm sure an offer will be forthcoming.

We don't just throw offers out haphazardly like some other schools.

Look at him? He's in Williston not Oregon my man. He's also been to games at Carolina this past season as a recruit/guest whatever. I don't understand why we don't lock it up. Guess we'll wait around and let Dabo love him up and sign there. And then piss and moan about depth.

We are in strong position for Bentley Spain, and I believe we are a player with Orlando Brown. Those are two big names for 2014 OT's. Hearn would be a good pickup, and 2014 is looking to be a big time recruiting class. Hearn may be a part of it, but only time will tell. It's not like we aren't recruiting this position at all. I doubt we will be complaining about our OL recruiting for this cycle.

2014 will be a smaller than usual class so our staff will have to be more "selective" with our offers and our fans better get used to the fact that there will be a lot of guys that we just cannot take.

Our coaches usually want to get kids on campus, see them up close and work them out before giving a firm offer. Just the way it is...if you can't handle that then maybe you need to find something better to do than follow recruiting, my man.

OL Taylor Hearn (6-5 320) of Williston-Elko committed to Clemson Monday night just a couple of days after attending the Tigers' junior day. Hearn also had an offer from North Carolina and drew the interest of USC, LSU, Mississippi State and NC State. Hearn said after being at Clemson Saturday he knew it was right for him. "It's just the vibe I get from the coaches," Hearn said. "I can tell they care about me and want me to do great things." Hearn plays tackle at this school and is excited about the chance to play for a fast paced offense like Clemson's. "I'll enjoy that a good bit," he said. "I'd like to start my freshman year." Hearn said his commitment is solid and he won't be looking anywhere else. He becomes the fifth commitment for Clemson's 2014 class.
