So we just matched our W total from last year, right? I'd say that's a big positive. Conference play is a whole different animal, but still. I think this team will only get better as the season progresses.

Good we matched last year's win total.
Maybe we can pick up a few conference games...hopefully get to a 15 win season at least and really start laying the foundation to build this program.

If we play like this in SEC play we're going to get stomped. Hopefully we get Bruce and Carrera back.

Really going to have to do a better job of rebounding and boxing out. SC State got a bunch of tips and there were quite a few plays where uncontested rebounders danced into the paint for 2nd chance opps.

Offensively, they have to play as a team and truly be dedicated to getting the best shot possible. Frank was getting pissed during the game because Leonard was taking quick shots and not moving the ball.

And in fast breaks, stop taking threes. Frank hates it. Take advantage of the numbers game, and get an easy layup.

Keep it simple.

My assessment from the game:

At times, our offensive flow seemed MUCH better than in any game before. Many open shots just didn't fall. If they had, we'd have won by 30. Our interior defense was sub-par for the whole 40 minutes - SC State had WAY too many easy buckets the entire game, most at the rim. In the end, it was a game agains SC State - not much to learn from it, other than we have to play much better than that to have a respectable conference record.
