I don't know if he'd be willing to take a pay cut by going to the NFL before he has to.
In all seriousness, he probably can't improve his draft status too much by staying an extra year. I'm sure he can come back and graduate after making his millions in the pros. |

You must not keep up much with college football outside of your beloved Gamecocks. I'm not the one saying he should be a Hesiman contender, its the national media.

If he were playing in a top notch conference he would have a better shot. Of course just like in the case of Geno Smith, playing in a better conference might hurt his chances too. I think Deebo talks him out of his NFL money this year with his offer of more taterdollars.

And then you have Johnny Manziel, Ohio States qb, Aaron Murray may return, in addition to Clowney. All that being said, LONGSHOT |

If Tajh goes pro... this really hurts Clowneys chances at Heisman. he likes to pad those stats against Boyd. 6.5 sacks in 2 years.

On one of the sports radio shows a couple of days ago a former coach said that Taj would be a perfect fit for a Kelly offense and to keep a close eye on where Kelly ended up. He said that he thought that this type of player draft control was part of the contract negotiations.

Boyd in KC with Andy Reid? would probably be an improvement from what they have already. Could probably get Tajh in 2nd or 3rd rd. and we all know Reid likes the somewhat mobile QBs who can throw.

All smack aside, he is no worse than Christian ponder was his senior year. I think he's a second round QB, but hey, im no draft expert. the only thing im an expert at is drinking beer.

No he wouldn't be an improvement. Quinn may not be the answer long term but he fits better in Reid's system tha Boyd. Reid will get either someone else or wait a year to get his QB. If Reid was wise he'd wait until next year to get a QB because this year QB class sucks.

So Boyd is as high on some boards as late second round and as low as late rounds, that's before combines. A month or two of busting your hump can get you into a more solid state. Will be interesting, but I will make two predictions s:
1. He will come back. 2. He will regret it, just like Kyle Parker. |

RG3 and Andrew Luck have ruined QB drafts for the next few years. Everyone says this QB class sucks but i think its more of a comparison to last years class. There are 3-5 QBs in this class with the potential to start for a NFL team in a few years. Maybe not any that could take a team over right away but this years class is decent.

He won't go.
Didn't the Boyd family move to Clemson after his dad suddenly got a great job? He's not leaving. |
