Will another SC QB lead Notre Dame to the NC ?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned that Golson from Myrtle Beach would join Tony Rice from Woodruff as QB's that lead Notre Dame to a National Championship from South Carolina. Golson is a South Carolina guy but I am an SEC guy so that trumps pulling for him.

Another question is if Bama loses will they still claim this as a national title like they did in '73?

I know coaches poll voted prior to bowls but is a joke they never fixed that year's national champions.

I am glad Golson has succeeded in South Bend. He was a special guy since his freshman year at MBHS. But I believe Bama has the coaching, experience and horses to take the BCS championship on Monday.

Wouldn't disagree with this. Golson needs to improve in the red zone for ND to win, he only completes 28% of passes in the red zone. I just hope it's a good game. All the major bowl games have sucked so far.

My wife is a Seahawk and there aren't very many people that are more obnoxious than your average 'Bama fan.

Hence why I will be pulling for The Irish tonight.

Notre Dame fans are the worst. At least Bama fans know that Bama is garbage other than football. ND fans think they are superior in every way, including academics. I work with a bunch and I can't stand them.

I can only speak from experience, brother. All I know is that I've heard "Roll Tide" far more times than I'm comfortable with over the past few years.

I went up there for a game. The fans were great! Welcoming and easy to talk to. Showed us around, invited us to eat. Very great atmosphere. You may work with some folks in Ohio who pull for them, and are bad, but don't judge the fan base by that. Go there, watch a game, spend a day or two and you will probably change your mind.

The are probably like the Duke fans in basketball. If they went there they are usually fine. If not they are some of the worst ones out there. I find the worst Clemson and South Carolina fans also fit this model where the alumns are fine and the other give the schools such a bad wrap.

I guess, I have to pull for bama. I kind of expect them to kick notre dame's ass, but I haven't watched many ND games other than the Pitt one, so maybe I didn't get their best performance. Kelly is a great coach though, hope he goes to NFL.

Notre Dame fans/alum are weird.

I don't link them fans like Ohio State, it seems like most of them are either from
Chicago or New York.

OT: but anyone see Jacoby Brissett is transferring? I remember he was between us and Fla IIRC.. made the wrong decision it appears, always felt he would have thrived here.

I'm not a fan of Driscoll, but he was always the higher regarded of the two- JB would have had ample opportunity for PT at USC.

Yea heard some of his schools being thrown around are Louisville, WVU, Tenn, NC state, Arkansas, Auburn and Tenn

Still don't think Golson is that great, didn't in HS either.. which was why I was not concerned with him not being recruited by us. That defense has been the reason for their success, but they haven't played a great (top 10) team yet.. Okla was overrated, Mich state same, Stanford was not as good early in the season as they were late (Hogan>Nunes), etc.

Bama has played tough teams all year... ND will be in for a rude surprise. I see at least 3 TO's for Golson
