Funny story came out about Thornwell last week.

Rick Henry asked Frank Martin about Clowney's hit and asked how he would use a player like Clowney on the basketball court. Martin said "I would give the other team helmets. Actually one of our incoming recruits quit football because he got hit by Clowney."

Turns out, it was Thornwell before he transferred to Oak Hill. Don't worry, Sindarius. Nothing to be ashamed of. You survived a hit from Clowney. That's an accomplishment.

btw i got to watch his team play when he came to columbia. dude is sooo solid. He is going to be great.

Took over for his team in the second quarter. Got a team high 12 pts at half. Also 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Can rebound shoot the three and score by driving. Very active on D so far. Ill keep updating.

He looks very good getting inside. Has some NBA type moves once he gets in the low post. Also saw a couple nice passes and he seems to have pretty good instincts on defense.

Thornwell's vision with his passing is great. He looks to be the most polished player of all the players on Oak Hill

Potential program changer.

But he will need help. We can't pin it all on him....lest we have a situation similar to Devan Downey's final year where he was literally all we had.

But he is an absolute stud on the court.

Oak Hill lost 81-68

Thornwell finished with 27 points and was easily the best player on the court for Oak Hill.

Anyone know of a place to find the final stats? I'm curious to see how many assists, steals, etc. he had.

Nothing yet but Thornwell had 27 points 5 rebounds and 5 assists

I think Kacinas and Carrera will certainly help. Martin will bring in better players ala Dawn Staley.

I really hope we can retain Thornwell's services for 3 years. We'll need that long to get fully loaded with the right players. I believe the middle of our lineup will be stacked with Carrera and kacinas and Thornwell as seniors and juniors. We'll have a soph. PG who hopefully is the real deal possibly that transfer will be an option too, and maybe by then Martin will have pulled in a true 5 with a big body.

There is potential there to have a top 15 squad. There wouldn't be an issue with game attendence then. Imagine a senior Carrera's energy at home games.

i know we will have him for atleast two. he wont be rated highly enough to leave for the NBA after his first year.

Having him for at least two would mean he gets a chance to play with Stroman for at least one. That has the chance to be really big for this program.

Tyrone Johnson will certainly help too, even though he won't be eligible to play right away.
