I really hope this stays "local" and something he does with and for the
team. I'd hate to see his beliefs go National and have him scrutinized
for his every move the way everyone did Tim Tebow because the media
thought detailing his every move was somehow tied in with his beliefs.

I love hearing these kinds of stories about our guys now instead of the
ones they used to print about us during the off season a few years ago,
but it can go to the opposite end of the spectrum if someone wants to
make a human interest story out of his off season work. Especially if he
continues to get a lot of PT or should he take over as our #1 guy at
some point.

2. I'm sure Dylan would actually like more media attention on his faith since it would help spread the word a bit more.

As for his stand going national, I hope it does, but I notice that ESPN always skips all comments about his faith and goes on to the next sentence he says.

i agree that he is an excellent representative of our team, but am glad espn takes into account that a large majority of fans couldn't care less about his faith. check out the last three letters in espn, which have nothing to do with personal life choices. a lot of us are watching to get news about sport, not all the other human interest crap. personally, i think they do way too much human interest, and should concentrate a lot more on just the sport.

It seems like a lot of people only care about the player and not the person. Frankly I like to read the type of people we have because it does reflect on the field.

I hope it does too me4...it's amazing how our athletes have turned our program around and it's no coincidence that it stems from the people they are off the field and how grounded they are that feeds them and makes them the players and helps their success on the field and I wish the media would notice that more

There are many men of faith on the team including Thompson, AJ Cann, Justice Cunningham, Connor Shaw, and Marcus Lattimore. Cunningham and Lattimore will be missed.

Last summer, Thompson interned with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As many as 13 members of the football team met with him for weekly Bible studies.

Yeah...and I have saw DJ Swag and Vic praying with Latti on the sidelines a few times before the game started. Also know that Nick Jones and TJ were 2 more that were going around with Dylan and Latti speaking at other Churches

TJ and Marcus were actually using their off days (Last year I know), to
go to different youth functions and churches and talk to those groups
and give their testimony. They were doing it on their own dime too. That
was something you don't hear about that often and IMO, you shouldn't
hear about it that much. That's when you know they are doing it for the
right reason.

I don't think Thompson was paid for speaking at FBS either, and I know that he's gone to schools on his own time. Probably many of the guys do that. I'm not taking anything away from TJ and Marcus, I'm just say that it's a good groups of guys who give their time freely.
