2004: Tremel Kline

Talk about a player with Sunday potential.

This kid had the height (6'3") and the super speed. Had great numbers in high school, made all-state and Shrine Bowl. Ran a laser timed 4.6 at Nike with a taped pulled groin muscle. Later in the year ran a sub 4.4 in front of scouts at Shrine Bowl practice when Div 1 coaches could attend post season all star games. Offered by USC, Clemson and UNC.

Never made it on campus due to grades, attended Los Mesoda (sp) junior college, then signed LOI with Utah St. Not sure if he ever played a down at Utah St.

I'm positive we landed Mr. Footballs before Thomas. I do believe he was highly rated/thought of back then though.

I was thinking more about D'Von Hill and it hit me. That is the guy that had a HUGE Spring Game when Holtz was here and like a month or so later they said he couldn't play again bc of the neck. He had Gamecock nation buzzing after the game I remember that.

SuperPrep didn't anticipate the impact of online recruiting sites involving recruiting, and how it could interconnect all the national regions together better. If Allen Wallace had the right foresight he could've gotten the jump on both Rivals and Scout. As it was, he continued to publish his magazine up until just last summer, which was his final preview edition. Overall, SuperPrep published 82 editions over 28 years...at one time, it was referenced and sourced as the premier source for prep football recruiting by both Sports Illustrated and USA Today...

How much can you bulk up a kid that is 6' 185lbs? Yes that is what he weighed at a camp this summer.

215 is really pushing it with his frame. He is a SPUR, he is not an SEC LB.

However, if our defensive staff pushes for him - with the idea of eventually playing him at LB then it is what it is. Our coaches work at a major school in the SEC and know more about football than I do. I am just a message board poster.
