Because the SEC has more teams ranked in the top 20 than any other conference. It's not top heavy like every other conference. It's a balanced conference, THAT IS WHY IT"S THE BEST!!!

Wow, really? The thing is, every other team that beat an SEC team or came close had 3 to 4 weeks to make their season and a place to hang their hat on. That is the difference. Do you think any SEC team prepared as hard as as long as these other conferences, NO, and the SEC still went 6 and 3.

I doubt it. Why? They are better coached and have better players. They also have a thing Clemson likes, history.
LSU resented playing you. Tajh and Nuk had their very best game. Les Miles looked disinterested and Clemson deserved that win for showing up ready to play. This season Clemson showed up ready to play teams like Wake and the other weak teams in their schedule. Props to them for that because it can wreck a season. Example # 1 is LSU this season.

The dominance being discussed here isn't a single season of dominance. It's a complete dominance as a conference that is closing in on a decade. Bama didn't do that all by itself. Bama didn't even dominate within its conference this year, as pointed out by several others. Don't let one game against ND haze your memory of the whole season. No one, not even Bama, can argue they are head and shoulders above anyone else in the league, because we have all been beaten. A&m got hot at the end, but a few games isn't dominance.

In fact, consider this, if it weren't for the ground work laid by other SEC teams and their dominance in title games, Bama may not have been given the benefit of the doubt to back into last years title game or even this years game.

Just curious on your last sentence. Are you implying that every team but Bama is a mid or lower tier team and thus riding the coat tails of Bama?

I'm not sure it's conference dominance as much is it's Alabama and sometimes LSU dominance. Having said that, I do think the overall conference is better than any other conference. Bowl winners this year were Bama, Ga, SC, A&M, Miss, Vandy....losers were Fla, Miss St, and LSU. I don't think any other conference came close to 6-3.

You mean other than Florida, LSU and Tennessee all winning BCS titles...yep only Alabama...
