Kornheiser's Top 5

Just watched today's PTI, and Tony Kornheiser listed his top 5 teams:
1. Alabama
2. Texas A&M
3. Georgia
4. Oregon
5. South Carolina

Now the context of the conversation was the dominance of the SEC, and admittedly, it sounded like Kornheiser was just putting the list together off the top of his head, BUT the the fact that SC was one of the teams that would pop into his head as a top five speaks volumes for how far the program has progressed.

Your fifth place votes are a joke right? Florida got clobbered by Louisville, Fla State.. meh, Oklahoma got clobbered by TAMU, Ohio St... meh didn't really beat anyone good this year.

They improved a lot after the QB change imo. Their defense is legit..one of the top d-lines in cfb..and some really good running backs. They are a good team

Stanford is the one team outside the SEC that plays with an "SEC mentality" They play great defense and run the ball really well. They will be really good next year. Harbaugh and their current coach did a hell of a job building that program from where they were just a few years ago

Well, Florida did whip us. I know we turned the ball over plenty, but some of those were caused by the Gator defense. They also whipped the ACC Champs.

One loss in a bowl game that was probably UL's biggest ever doesn't mean UF is a bad team. They do have a below average offense.

Everything that was said about Stanford in this thread was said about ND from mid-December to Monday night at about 7:59, and we see how that worked out.

FWIW, ND and Stanford would be my 7 and 8 teams in my final rankings.

No offense, you but obviously didn't watch Ohio State play much. Don't let the 12-0 record fool you. They are a one dimensional team who rises and falls based on Braxton Miller. Their defense was not good - very poor tackling team. Like Notre Dame, they were lucky last year.

Maybe they have some depth and good recruiting and will fill some much needed voids next year. However, no way they are the 5th best team. I saw them play in person against Cal. Cal was the better team that day. Ohio State got lucky at the end of the game.

THANK YOU!!! been saying this all season. They will be top 5 next year just because of Urban Meyer/Braxton Miller/being Ohio State. They won't go undefeated again next year.

top 5 next year will be: Bama, Oregon, Ohio St, TAMU, and either us or UGA. not really sure about Stanford and what all they lose from this year. same with Notre Dame

Kornheiser's radio show used to be awesome. Not sure if he still does radio but Kornheiser is a very funny guy and his radio show was very entertaining.
