Texas A&M's Class... Holy hell

Has anyone seen the class that A&M is putting together?

What happened to that SEC limit of 25 recruits per year? Am I misunderstanding that rule? They are at 35 recruits right now.

So when we beat down # 1 Bama and went to the SEC championship game I dont remember the same excitement out of recruits for us. Ok Im done I am stepping away from the ledge still a long way to go until August....

They said on one of the ESPN recruiting shows that like 7 commits are WR prospects while they have 3 athletes projected to play WR. So they may have a bunch of high star commits, seems like they are unbalanced. Also don't get how they are allowed to sign 35.

Their recruiting is getting a boost because they have stud QB, which every offensive recruit wants to play with. We didn't have that on offense in 2010. That year did help with D recruiting, we got Clowney.

We also only won 9 games that year, got blown out by scam and lost to Florida state in the bowl game. I love Garcia and he's one of my favorite players of all time but he didn't inspire the same response that manziel has. Totally different situation

It didn't help us that we lost the next week to U effing K and then meandered our way into Atlanta.

That being said, I thought TAMU was a good fit for the SEC, but I hated it at the same time and really hate that we are going to be saddled with them too.

I think they will fudge some by having a lot of early enrollees that count towards last year's smaller class. Also, I guess we will see some grayshirts.

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

They had 9 early enrolless. So that gets them down to 26.

They expect greyshirts and nonqualifiers too.

They'll send out the same # of LOIs as other SEC schools, 25.

Manziel isn't the type of QB that makes other players have better stats etc... It isn't like he is a pass first QB like Barkley where mutiple WRs can have monster years and be top picks in the NFL (Woods/Lee), and with all the scrambling he does, it makes WR have to work even harder to get and stay open.

That being said, Seals-Jones and Griffin should turn him into a pass first QB (but won't, he's better on the run scrambling making plays when the defense breaks down).. 6'6/6'7 respectively good lord.

I agree with your assessment but HS kids don't think that way. They just see Heisman QB and national exposure. They figure being with him makes them look better.

I thought there was a limit on how many EE's you could have

the limit is relative to how many kids signed the previous year who enrolled and werent backcounted to the previous class.

according to that georgia article, only 15 of the guys they signed last year counted, so they have 10 spots for early enrollees that they could backcount and 25 guys they could sign.
