I can't understand why anyone would stay if projected 1st round. I know it's for 'personal' reasons, etc., but at some point these guys have to overcome their emotions and understand that it really is an ill-advised business/career decision.

Exactly. Making a responsible financial decision does not mean that your priorities are out of wack. In fact, I would argue quite the opposite.

Money is not the driving force for everyone nor is it always the #1 priority. I would also venture to guess that he has taken out millions of dollars in insurance in case of an injury. Some kids just prefer the college life and the NFL will be there waiting next year.

Beat me to it. I wasn't impressed with him. If he wanted me to be impressed, he should have blocked Clowney. He held him every play.

I bet his draft prediction came back lower than he figured. He was hyping himself to the max after the game, including his probably bogus quote about Clowney saying Lewen was the best tackle he saw all year. I didn't believe that for a sec.

Exactly. To each his own. I couldn't blame him either way. He'll never have a chance to go back to college and experience what he will next year. At his age I would have trouble passing up the money. But hats off to him realizing the experiences he could never get back. If he were a RB I would bet he would go, but OT's tend to have decent careers.

I heard the quote from Clowney on the radio. I've rewatched the game a few times and he definitely held his own vs. Clowney. He did have a couple costly penalties though, but I don't think either were called vs. Clowney.

Injuries are more and more common for all the players now and the thought of risking big $$$'s over another year in college could be seen as a bad decision.

He was a very smart man to hold Clowney if the refs are not going to call it most of the time.

Maybe the reason our oline does open some of the holes that some of these other olines open is because we don't hold as much? I don't know.
