Default best college running back ever?
There was a thread in the smack forum that got me thinking, so I wanted to post this here and see what you guys think.

In the post, a Gamecock asked a UGA fan who they thought was the best running back ever in college football, with the assumption that he would say Herschel Walker.


I was looking around a few websites and the vast majority did chose Walker. And I think I wold agree, but there are a few that I think could make a pretty good argument for the top spot.

Bo Jackson (Auburn) Ricky Williams (Texas) and Eric Dickerson (SMU) come to mind.

I know a lot of people will immediately have doubts about Dickerson because of the issues at SMU while he was there. But he had serious talent, despite of the troubles at SMU.





So... I am curious. What do you guys think?

Herschel started as a freshman but he was one of the first players to leave college early for a pro career. Donald Trump flew down to Athens to convince him to leave early for the USFL draft.

Didn't the NFL require 4 years while the USFL did not?

As great of an athlete as he was I don't believe he ever started at OK State until his last year. He had a great last season but I would think this would be based off of an entire college career. That being said I don't think there is anyone to pick other than Herschel Walker, If he would have stayed for his senior year then he would have been the all time yardage leader and It would probably be standing still today.
