Trindon Holliday

(Ace Sanders stats were very comparable to Holliday, even though the two were used for different reasons by their teams in college. Ace could be as good or better at returning kicks based on how he is used)

Absolutely spot on. Nick Saban gets recruits not because they win naty's, but because he can say to the fella, "play here for three years, give me your all, and you will go to the NFL".

The HBC is helping get players in as well;maybe not all first rounders, but getting them in and getting them paid.

This will hurt us a lot in special teams. Ace was special. No one else on the roster has that kind of ability. He will be missed. This happens to us seemingly every year now. Wish we could emphasize more the importance of staying in school 4 years.


JMO, but I think he saw the tweets every day (I know I did) about how he would've been a top 100 pick and started having second thoughts. Really wish some people could keep their mouth shut. Wish him the best.

i doubt ace has the straight line speed that holliday does, but ace has barry sanders like agility and i dont say that lightly. thats probably the thing we cant immediately replace, but the good news is nobody else has a guy like that on their roster in the country either. now we'll see who steps up at receiver, big opportunity for roland and the other young guys, byrd as well. whoever steps up could determine if bruce plays slot or x.

losing 2 early entry guys including only 1 that we were expecting back isnt bad at all compared to the rest of the sec. young guys change their mind, certainly cant fault the guy when it comes to a big decision like that. hes not an idiot, hes a talented guy who waited this long so he obviously thought it through thoroughly. he'll be missed, but we have talent and i'll enjoy watching him on sundays.

This sucks and he will be missed. But look at other schools and the number of recruits they have leaving. We got out easy to have one big time player leave early. (I'm not including Marcus since he wouldn't have played again next year anyway)

Byrd, Ellington, or Carson will be the obvious replacements on returns. Byrd and Ellington being there for WR duty, however the taller receivers really need to start getting in work with the QBs.

There are 47 or 48 underclassmen going in the NFL draft. South Carolina has two of those. Where so you think the other 45 are coming from?

Well since they broke another record this year with 70+ underclassmen leaving early it clearly shows that it does happen at other schools. Of course it also means even more of these guys won't be drafted because as the pool expands the fringe guys find themselves on the outs. I believe last somewhere between 25 and 30% of the guys that left early based on their advisors recommendations or their draft projections ended up not being drafted.

I wish him the best but I just don't see anyway he's a top 100 pick. His size is going to really hurt him especially with the other WRs in this class and even with his great returns this year I don't think NFL teams are going to see him as an elite return guy.
