I would never take that bet. I personally think he is a late 3rd round pick. I was simply saying that he had been projected as a 2nd by someone that is it. No need for being a dbag

First I have heard of that, and if there's truth to this, it's now a sad development for many other reasons.

There is a part of me that is happy that we are getting talented enough players that they feel like they are ready to enter the NFL by the end of 3 years. That is the mark of a good team with a lot of talent.
That being said, I am both proud of him for being a Gamecock and sad to see him go, and I will wish him well. I am disappointed that he didn't honor his promise when he said that he was going to stay, but what can you do with 19 or 20 year old kids? We are going to hurt and we don't have as much depth as I would like behind him, but we have a couple of good guys who have already started to break out, so we should be okay as long as they can take the reigns. Good luck, Ace. Gamecock Nation will be rooting for you.

We're going to miss him in the return game, there's no doubt about that. But I can't be too mad at a guy who's pretty much guaranteed to be heading off to make millions. We'll be fine at WR - it's PR where we'll miss Ace most, obviously.

Such a poor decision. How can clemson get a guy like boyd, who had a great year especially in the stats department, to stay? And we cant even get a guy with only 500 receving yards to stay in school. Its sad, and a poor decision by Ace. He could've come back and be our leader in yards and continue to shred on special teams, but I guess he wanted that ca$h $$money$$ way too bad. I sure hope he saw "Broke", that 30 for 30 on espn. His decision to go pro is equivalent to Emmanuel Cook's decision. This is a big loss for the team

I'm certain that Ace will do well at the next level. It's my opinion that a lot of plays were missed with him the past 2 seasons simply by not getting him the ball. Sure going to miss that guy.

When I was in high school, I was dating this wonderful girl. We had so much fun together and we both agreed that we didn't want things to end. Then one day, my girlfriend got into Harvard and left me to move up north for college. At first, I was a little angry with her because she left to go somewhere that I could not go as well. And upset that despite what she had said and the fun that we had, that she was going to leave anyway. Then I realized that her hard work and god-given ability had combined to win her a type of lottery, the chance for a great future. So instead of focusing on all of the good times that I could no longer look forward to, I celebrated her good fortune and hard work. Then I wished her well and said goodbye.
I've felt similar with the news of Ace leaving. At first, I was angry that we wouldn't have one of (if not the) best punt returners in the college game. And admittedly a little mad that he said he was going to stay and then changed his mind. But you know with a little time, I realized it was the same situation I faced earlier in life. So here's to Ace. We had some great times, and due to a combination of hard work and god-given ability you've got the chance to go off and do something very special. I wish the best and even though you won't be a part of my favorite team, I wish you the best. Thanks for the good times, Ace. You rock. |

Well the rest of the SEC East just sighed a deep breath of relief.
Also, wish Ace the best. OK Roland, time for you to turn it up and make a great replacement for him in the WR corps. Also, I think Ellington and Byrd will suffice in the return game come this fall.
