I guess you never made any mistakes and I bet no mistake you ever made had you playing in the AFC championship game with the Baltimore Ravens chasing the dream while playing the game he has loved since he was a kid. Because you know his circumstances and everything surrounding his decision. Get over it. Good teams lose players, good teams have guys step up. If the team cant recover from losing a receiver then maybe it isnt as good as we thought. Alabama lost a heisman finalist and still won the national championship. It happens.

Agree! I am as downtrodden as any fan on this board, but all any of us can do is say "good luck and thanks for being a great Gamecock!" He has made a decision few of us are blessed (cursed?? lol) to be faced with. He should be wished success no matter what the outcome of his decision is.

I have nothing but well wishes for Ace, and I will always think highly of him and be thankful for all he has done at South Carolina, but I also can't stop myself from thinking how it seems most of our guys over the years who have been eligible to leave early and stood a chance to be drafted did leave, but other schools have guys who are projected to be 1st round picks and stay. I'm thinking specifically of Tajh Boyd and Taylor Lewan. Like I said, I have no ill feelings, but it does confuse me a bit.

I also wonder why it is that we don't have more kids that are willing to stay for their senior season. It even affects our baseball team. Other schools get kids to stay that are higher draft picks. Either way I wish the best for Ace. If all he was going to school for was to play football and try to get to the NFL then this is probably his best chance because of his special teams play and the publicity he got from the bowl game. Its a shame we don't have more kids like Michael Roth who are students who happen to be athletes.

IMHO...Anyone who thinks him leaving doesn't hurt our special teams return stats and recieving stats next year are either smoking crack or didn't watch enough Gamecock football this past season. I bet our average kickoff return drops by 15 + yards next year. But we will look this thread up after next season and see if all you guys saying this isn't a big deal know what your talking about.

I agree with the sentiment of your post, but Ace was almost never on kickoff returns, and when he was, he wasn't nearly as effective as he was on punts. Actually, he only returned one kickoff, and that was in the bowl game, and he only returned it 16 yards. Bruce was the main man on kickoff returns. He had 18 returns, but the next closest were Byrd and Auguste with 2 each. Maybe you actually mean punt returns?

He has the biggest upside, but he has not lived up to the hype yet.... He has had his moments, though

Clearly I was the one who couldn't control my emotions, since I was the one who posted "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, good luck in free agency cause you won't be drafted" about a guy who most definitely will be drafted. I'm glad you think I don't have credibility, because I crave your validation.
