Default Bruce Ellington question?

In wake of Ace declaring early for the draft how secure is Bruce playing two sports again next season? I just wonder if having the success he did this year will keep him interested in playing because I remember reading somewhere that basketball was the sport he liked more?

I think Bruce will play because he has a legitimate shot at the NFL. He had good numbers this year and probably will have better numbers this coming year.

Not worried at all about Bruce coming back. He led our team as a receiver and was getting better and better as the season ended. I think he'll be back.

I'll go along with this. If anything, he may not play Bball next year if he blows up on the gridiron. I'm expecting him to be our #1 playmaker on offense next year.

Prior to the game winning TD in the Outback Bowl, it may have been up in the air. However, I cant see ANYONE hanging up their cleats after experiencing that...He'll be back.

He has a MUCH better shot at an NFL career than an NBA career, and he surely realizes this.

He's undersized for an NBA point guard, but there are plenty of NFL skill players at his size. He's a much better prospect in football, and his upside in the sport is significantly higher.

Also, NBA rosters carry 12 players total. NFL rosters carry 53 active players, and a couple of dozen more on scout teams. He can do the math.

Bruce will NOT be walking away from football.

I'm not too worried about it. We could just roll our tight ends out there with no wideouts and win 10 games. That's where its at people.

basketball certainly was his first love, but he's developed into an all sec caliber wr. 5 td over his last 5 games. 7 td over his last 8 games. back to back 100 yard games to end sec play last year.

jordan matthews is the only returning wr in the sec east that was better than him last year.

I don't think Bruce will call it quits in either sport. Next year is his last year of basketball so I expect he wants to finish. And I can't see him quitting football. He has two years left of football.

I think Bruce will play both since he has said that is what he would like to, he is successful at it, and has been doing it his entire life. Having said that the chances for Bruce to earn a living playing basketball are far greater with the overseas gigs available, with football it is NFL or CFL or bust as well as the career lifespan of football compared to basketball.

He should be back. Everything is just starting to become easy for him at WR. He said he can read defenses better and just has better understanding of it all. He can play off his natural ability more now than having to think as much on each play.

Great to see that. Maybe he could possibly do what Jordan did with baseball, and try out for the NBA team in his town. :D

Bruce is a very good WR. He has insanely good vision and understands angles. I think next year will be even bigger for him.

He'd be nuts to hang up the cleats. The NFL is his future.
