We’ve known for some time that Carter was a tremendous athlete, but it was his junior season film and several in-person evaluations by our team that caused him to ascend rapidly to his lofty position at No. 3 overall, a numerical grade of 100 and a five-star rating. The 6-foot-5, 237-pound Carter has special quickness and instincts and the type of frame that could see him make millions of dollars in the NFL one day. As good as he is now, he can be even better and since rankings are projections, we project him very high. Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida and a host of other programs have offered recently.

That's odd because he certainly is not built for the 3 - 4. He is a pure DE imo.

I know the first post indicates USC offer, but on Rivals, Scout and 247, it looks like we're the only ranked team that has not offered. Are the recruiting sites missing something?

So would you try to sell him on a Norwood type role considering his interests? He's a DE for sure, but maybe we could get him interested in that hybrid type position. Also was that Norwood role something that Ellis Johnson brought to the table, and maybe not so much a Lorenzo Ward type scheme?

This kid is not a LB in any system and imo like ETG stated is a prototypical 4-3 DE ala Clowney. Not really sure who is telling him he is suited for a 3-4 at any position because he is not. Maybe his HS Coach is a Georgia Fan.

Coaches can't have much contact with Juniors unless it falls within the "bump" rule, so a lot of time a school will tell the coach that his player has an offer and sometimes it gets lost in the shuffle. Happened with Raekwon McMillan and UGA earlier in the recruiting year.

He did describe the UGA offer as "huge", but he's a kid that Bama wants really bad. That makes me nervous.
