I good passing game this year will go a long way to bringing in elite WR in the next few years.

After his visit to USC Saturday, Junior WR Shaq Davidson of Gaffney has named the Gamecocks his leader. Davidson already had USC in his top four with Georgia, North Carolina and Ohio State. "I liked it a lot," Davidson said. "I really like the atmosphere and the facilities. I love the coaches." He returns to Columbia when the Gamecocks host Missouri next week. Each previously mentioned school has offered along with Clemson, Tennessee, NC State and Wake Forest. Florida State, Oregon, Alabama, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State continue to show strong interest in Davidson. As for other visits, he plans to attend games at Clemson, UGA and UNC. "I don't know which games though," he admitted.

Is this kid as good as Roland. I'd love to have 2 WR start named Shaq.

If everything works out the way it should and we get this kid, I really think he should r/s. Both Byrd and Roland were pretty hyped coming in, but didn't hardly anything on the field and ended up wasting a year of eligibility. No need to make the same mistake AGAIN; unless the kid just blows it up before the season starts. Just hate to see him play a few snaps in a couple of games and then goes cold the rest of the year.

If he is good enough to break into the 2 deep he isn't going to redshirt. If he isn't then he will redshirt. You're going to have some players do basically nothing their freshman year if they avoid redshirt much like Byrd and Roland. Then there are players who will help the team greatly like McKinley and Alshon. It is impossible to predict which way it goes so if they are good enough to get on the field you put them on the field and see what happens.

Well if they are great in their 1st year then your probably only going to have them for 3 years anyhow so you might as well play them.

Picked up an offer from the Gold Domers and GA Tech this past week. That makes USC, Clemson, ND, Ohio St, UNC, NC ST, TN, Wake, UGA, and GT. 247Sports has him rated the top player in SC, #5 WR nationwide, and #58 prospect overall. He'll make your jaw drop when he runs with the ball.
